SITUATION Fremington is ideally situated for touring North Devon and parts of Somerset and Cornwall, only 38 miles from the M5 along the A361. Fremington is easy to reach by car. Train services operate from Exeter to Barnstaple which is only a 10 minute drive away. National Express coaches also stop in the village.The nearest airports are Bristol (80 miles), Exeter (60 miles) and Plymouth (65 miles) with very good road networks to North Devon.

April Cottage is a quaint 16th Century "chocolate box" cottage set in a secluded part of the village of Fremington. Great care has been taken in decorating and furnishing the cottage to a high standard with modern appliances, whilst ensuring it is in keeping with the cottage's age and style. April Cottage provides a homely, restful base for you to enjoy your holiday here in the West Country. There is a cosy lounge with woodburner but the cottage also benefits from gas central heating. It has a pretty secluded, enclosed rear garden with BBQ.

Although very near to open countryside (a few yards from the front door) and beaches, Fremington also has good facilities including two pubs one of which serves meals, a fish and chip shop and a Chinese restaurant which has take away facilities. They are within easy walking distance of the cottage. There is a small supermarket nearby and Sainsburys is approximately 2 miles away.

THINGS TO DO From April Cottage you have easy access to the Tarka Trail which is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. Cycle hire is available at Fremington Quay. Horse riding - we have lots of stables in the area which cater for riders of all abilities. Beach rides are very popular. Dartington Crystal is 10 miles away. The Big Sheep in Bideford is a fun day out for all the family. World famous Clovelly is just 15 miles away. The historic town of Barnstaple, is approximately 3 miles away. 6 miles away is the very old port of Bideford. Boat trips are available to the National Trust Island of Lundy. Fishing and Diving Trips also sail from Bideford, Ilfracombe and Clovelly.

North Devon is renowned for its superb coastline, and moors - Exmoor and Dartmoor. Beautiful, unspoilt countryside and beaches are to be found within a half-hours drive. The area has many beautiful walks including the Coastal Path. A selection of books are in the cottage to enable you to plan your walks. Dulverton and Tarr Steps on Exmoor are highly recommended. Fresh fish is brought in from the boats at Instow beach. Ashford Fruit Farm, Braunton, has pick your own strawberries and other soft fruits. The Cathedral City of Exeter and Newton Abbott racetrack may be reached within an hour and a half by road. Plymouth is approximately 2 hours by road.

On the ground floor Cosy lounge with stone fireplace with traditional Devon bread oven, woodburner, TV and DVD / video, CD / radio, sofas, dining table and chairs. Fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances including electric hob and oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave and washer / drier.

High chair available.

On the first floor (10 steps from ground floor) Three bedrooms - one with a double bed, two each with twin beds. Two bathrooms - one with shower, separate bath and wash basin, the second with W.C, basin and washer / drier.

Secluded cottage garden with barbecue, lawn and flower borders. Parking space for one car other parking available nearby. Gas central heating is fitted throughout the cottage.

Prices Include Bed linen, use of cot and highchair if required, all electricity, tea towels.

Please note: Not Included Bath / hand towels, bed linen for the cot, central heating (£25 per week) and logs (£7 a box).

Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at April Cottage - there is a charge of £25 per dog per week.
