An historic town in South Devon just seven miles north west of Exeter, Crediton is located on both the A377 road north to Barnstaple and the Tarka Line railway which heads in the same direction – and which is credited with being one of the most scenic rail journeys in the country.
The town is noted as the birthplace of Saint Boniface in 672 - and as the seat of a bishop. It straggles along a vale of the River Creedy and consists of an old town area in the east and a new town in the west.
