B&B's in Okehampton

The town of Okehampton on the northern edge of Dartmoor takes its name from the Saxon ‘Ocmundtune’, which refers to its origins in the tenth century as a settlement beside the River Ockment.

During the middle ages the town prospered on the wool trade and was distinguished by a number of notable buildings including Okehampton Castle and the Chapel of St James. Staying at our choice of Okehampton Bed and Breakfast and Devon B&B's allows for a great chance to get to know this area better and perhaps pay a visit to one of the town’s more recent attractions, The Museum of Dartmoor Life.
