The popular seaside town of Ilfracombe is only five miles away from the cottage and has many shops, pubs and restaurants for visitors to discover. Surfers will love the golden sandy beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton, whilst the rugged beauty of Exmoor is a must for hikers. This perfect family cottage is situated on a 20 acre farm and is 1 of 5 holiday properties on the complex and offers a unique holiday experience with so much to see and do off and on site!

As you enter this cottage you are immediately wowed by the stunning exposed beams and huge windows flooding the space with light. Conveniently the property is mainly laid out on one floor, the main attraction being the lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has a TV, DVD, Freeview, video player, Hi-Fi and a wood burner perfect for snuggling up on those cooler evenings. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine, whilst the dining area has a table and seating for six people so all the family can gather around. Leading off of the lounge you will find a small hallway with the wet room, equipped with WC and a spacious double bedroom. Also on the ground floor there is a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and WC. A staircase from the living area leads up to a galleried double bedroom with stunning exposed beams but privacy is assured by full length drapes.

Outside, there is an enclosed patio area with garden furniture and lovely farmland views. Disposable BBQs can be bought on site.

Onsite activities

-Meet the farm animals, (many of which are rescue animals), such as horses, alpacas, pigs, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and ducks. This holiday offers a unique chance to let children enjoy nature in a farm setting, thanks to the toddler friendly pets corner with pond dipping and animal handling.

- Indoor play barn (shared) with pool table, table tennis and other games, perfect for those with a competitive streak.

-Library that is well stocked with books, children's toys and videos for everyone to enjoy.

Excellent kitchen and dining area with plenty of equipment for cooking the whole barn was stocked with comfortable furniture and beds. If the twin beds had been the sort that converted to a double it would have been perfect for 3 single ladies who have double beds at home.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Granary. It was perfect for us our two friends and our four dogs. Really dog friendly, lovely and cosy in the evenings. Central to where we wanted to go. It had everything we needed and more including a massive field in which we were allowed to use to walk the dogs. We would absolutely love to go back again to Read morethis lovely friendly place. Had a lovely holiday, if piece and quite is what you want this is the place to be. Your are a 10 minute ride frome Woolacombe and Ilfracombe and a 20 minute drive to Combemartin. If you have dogs there's a great field to let them have a run in. The cottage is very spacious and has everything you need it's home from home. A perfect rural holiday cottage . Well equipped, comfortable beds and ideal set up for a family of six .Great place to bring a dog too with tiled floors and a designated field where they can be off the lead. Friendly and welcoming owners and not forgetting to their farm animal family where you can go and meet them during your stay.

Unfortunately we were left disappointed with our stay at this cottage. Despite only being able to check in at 4pm, the cleaning could have been more thorough: we ended up cleaning a bit more. Only 1 bathroom has shower, other has bath. Not ideal for 5 adults. Upstairs bedroom is a loft with no door FYI. Beds are not comfortable, struggled with poorRead more sleep during stay; we left two days early due to my husbands back pain. I think there can be many improvements. Hide

Great location well placed to visit various beaches and attractions. Very quiet on site with plenty to interest for young children in the play area and seeing animals. Good walk ares for dogs and you can walk to the village of West Down in about half an hour but can be muddy near to the river. We had the absolute best time at Grain Cottage / The Granary. The place was so charming, and it really made the best location for our Christmas memories. We felt welcome and safe and really taken care of. It was so idyllic being able to see the animals every morning, walk our dogs in the 20 acre field, and snuggle down by the fire in the evenings. Granary Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable, and was well suited to our needs. Its location was excellent for getting to the coast from Croyde round to Minehead. The farm setting was superb, being quiet, and the facilities for children with access to the various rescue animals and play barn was very useful in keeping them amused.

Couldn't of had a better holiday. The rooms were lovely and was so cosy! The park for kids on site is great as well as the games room with a pool table we spent most nights playing. The owners are so welcoming and friendly and we was shown all the different animals on the farm. My daughter loved waking up every morning to feed the pigs and all the Read moreanimals.
