Steeped in maritime history, the popular village of Appledore offers much for visitors to see and do. There is a choice of shops, pubs, restaurants, galleries and the Maritime Museum which reflects the village’s nautical heritage. Enjoy a boat trip across to Instow with its sand dune beach, or fishing trips in Bideford Bay. Walk the coast path to Bideford or to Westward Ho!, just over a mile away, with two miles of sandy, surfing beach. Other attractions nearby include Lundy Island, The Tarka Trail, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way Adventure Park, Dartington Crystal, RHS Rosemoor and Clovelly with its winding, cobbled streets. In the evenings, enjoy a pint or a meal in one of the many pubs or restaurants.

On entering this charming and traditional cottage you will find yourself in the spacious hallway, perfect for coats and shoes. This area leads into the attractive open-plan lounge/diner. The welcoming and snug lounge is ideal for relaxing in, with its gas wood burner along with a Smart TV, and beautiful original exposed beams and stone wall. The bright and airy dining area is ideally situated and perfect whether you’re enjoying a snack or sitting down to a special meal, plenty of space for everyone. Heading into the well-equipped kitchen you will find everything you may need during your stay including an oven, electric hob, fridge, small washing machine and microwave. Also on the ground floor you will find the shower room with WC. Heading upstairs, you will find two comfortable bedrooms: the master double room with a separate dressing area and a comfortable twin bedroom both finished to a high standard.

Stepping outside, you can relax at the end of a great day by sitting back in the enclosed rear yard with seating. Roadside parking at the nearby Quay just a short stroll away.

We had a lovely stay at tranquility cottage its very clean and cosy. Extremely close to shops, pubs etc. The garden is really good very secure for our dogs. The cottage had all the equipment you needed home from home.

A cosy cottage in the heart of Appledore with easy access to pubs, restaurants and shops so you dont have to use your car much as the bus service is great.

What a little Gem we found, hidden away in the lanes of Appledore. Was everything we expected and more. Felt like home not a holiday let,warm and cosy. Appledoor itself was also a bonus, lovely little estuary fishing village with plenty on offer. We would highly recommend a visit.

Really lovely old cottage with such a pretty courtyard. Hidden down one of the quietest streets in the town. Bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. We loved The Yard for dinner and drinks in the hidden terrace and The Beaver Inn for it's fantastic view from the terrace. We had a really lovely week in Appledore.

Cosy little cottage within easy walking distance of shops,pubs,chippy , several pubs & eateries. Everything you need is supplied and a high quality shower,bathroom was a nice surprise. It's a short walk down the hill to the nearest pubs and shops and due to the narrow roads we took a weekly parking pass at the Quay car park for 22.50 which was a fiRead moreve min casual walk. A tidy well presented cottage in an ideal location. A very short walk into the village but as it is on a dead end street no passing people so really quiet. Nice little courtyard ideal for sitting out on warm evenings and not overlooked. Everything needed is provided, had a good stay in Nice cottage in a nice friendly village.

We enjoyed our stay at tranquility cottage, it had everything you needed. the location was great for strolling out into Appledore, we did find it hard to get close with the car for loading and unloading on arrival and vacating the property, but it didnt spoil our holiday overall. Appledore is a lovely place with fabulous views across the estuary anRead mored there are some lovely places to eat out , the car park on the quayside wasnt far and was 16 for the whole week, we would definitely return Hide

We have just had a lovely week in Tranquility Cottage . Its exceptionally clean , and very comfortable. The owners really have thought of everything you would need , even a jar of dog biscuits . It is situated in a quiet very narrow lane , a few minutes walk from the sea front. We would definitely recommend staying here .

Absolutely lovely cottage.Situated in a very narrow road,therefore close to houses on opposite side,but still very bright and airy.Very clean.Modern shower room with a powerful shower.We had takeaways and ate out so didn't use much kitchen equipment but there seemed to be everything you would need if you wanted to cook. Just amazing! Tranquility cottage is just that, fab location in appledore. The cottage is clean and a true home from home with all the little extras thought of too, the beds comfortable and linen too, shower was just heaven! Lovely cottage in the centre of the village but very quiet. Handy for eateries and the ferry to Instow, especially with small children as not too far to walk. Some lovely places to eat. Comfy beds, cosy cottage, would stay again.
