Forming part of the pretty twin villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss May, this property is in a peaceful spot on the southern bank of the River Yealm. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, fantastic walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep, which take in ancient woodland and creeks. Steps from the garden lead to a quiet riverside lane where you can walk or take a seasonal ferry ride across the River Yealm, or for those looking to get even closer to the water, this is a popular destination for sailing, fishing, canoeing and paddle boarding.


Prepare and enjoy your meals in the light and airy kitchen/diner, which features a tiled floor and patio door opening onto the balcony. The kitchen area contains an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, with a good-sized breakfast table at one end.

For evening meals and relaxing, take to the spacious open lounge/dining area which overlooks the water. This open plan lounge/dining area offers a large picture window and door allowing in plenty of natural light and providing access to the balcony, this room is airy and inviting, with a Smart TV, DVD . Enjoy a cosy seat and relax by the wood-burner.

Younger guests might want to head for the games room, where there is a pool table, TV with Freeview and DVD. There are three nautically themed bedrooms in this property, one king-size with TV and Freeview with en-suite shower and WC, one further king-size and one twin. There is also a fully tiled bathroom with shower over bath and WC, plus a separate downstairs WC for convenience.


Outside, a large decked balcony area with garden furniture is the perfect spot for enjoying a summer BBQ overlooking the river. There is also a table tennis table located beneath the balcony and a handy storeroom for bikes, canoes, fishing and sailing kit.  Please be aware there are several stone steps leading from the parking bay to the front door.

A really brilliant stay. The house is spacious and very comfortable for 6 guests, and comes very well equipped for self catering. Great location in Noss Mayo, within easy walking distance of pubs and about 20 mins walk from shops. Great walks nearby accessible from the house, and many more a short drive away. This is the perfect place for a relaxing stay. The beds are very comfortable, with new ensuite and bathroom facilities. The property is well equipped if you enjoy cooking and there are several good pubs that offer wonderful food. This is a fantastic place, beautiful accommodation with everything youll need - lovely views and very spacious, just a word of caution if you are elderly/have respiratory/walking issues then you may wish to review this place as it is on a hill with many steps and a steep sloping garden. Our second stay at Tylecroft and just as impressed with the high level of cleanliness and comfort. The rooms and bathrooms have a fresh, contemporary feel and are extremely well equipped. To be able to sit outside is always a highlight with the BBQ a wonderful addition. Tylecroft is a great holiday cottage - very thoughtfully equipped, loads of information and extremely comfortable. Lovely bathrooms and a really well-equipped kitchen. We were very lucky with the weather, so we were able to make full use of the wonderful terrace and bbq area. Really nice well equiped cottage nicely located. We stayed mid September, so it was a little quieter! Nice views over the estuary from inside and outside, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather whilst we stayed. This area is enjoyed by walkers as you can access the south west coastal path very easily. All the beds were again very comfy, and bathrooms fitted out to a very high standard. We had a lovely stay in this very comfortable and well equipped home. I don't think the pictures do it justice as this big detached house is very roomy and light and comes with those fabulous views of Newton Creek and Newton Ferrers. The location in Noss Mayo is great and we very much enjoyed staying at Tylecroft.
