A substantial stone barn has been converted into three holiday cottages each sleeping 6. All have 3 bedrooms upstairs, one double, one twin and a bunk room.
Mill Leat is a 14 acre country estate situated in the valley of the River Waldon bordered by meadows, woodland and half a mile of river. The grounds include three acres of lake stocked with rainbow trout from the trout farm on the estate (Children love feeding the fish).
The location is obviously a fine choice for anglers and nature lovers. Ample car parking space alongside. Available to let all year.

Mill Leat Cottages

Situation
We are in the small village of Thornbury, 5 miles from the Market Town of Holsworthy. 12 miles from Bideford and 14 miles from Bude.

Things to do

We have 14 acres of land on which to roam and play, including fishing in the lakes or river, playing in the river, feeding the fish, with room to play football, cricket etc. Abundance of wild life - birds including Herons, kingfishers and also otters, deer, foxes and badgers. It is within easy reach of both Dartmoor (Okehampton 12 miles) and the coast. There is a golf course and leisure centre at Holsworthy, and an indoor swimming pool at Bude. Numerous places to go for day trips The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, etc. We do place leaflets in the cottages.

The cottages are set in 14 acres in the valley of the river Waldon, with 2 lakes for fly fishing and half a mile of river, and a small trout Farm.

An ideal location for touring both Dartmoor and Exmoor and just a 30 minute drive from the North Devon and Cornwall coastline including Bude, Clovelly, Hartland and Westward Ho! Five miles from the market town of Holsworthy with indoor swimming pool, sports hall and 18 hole golf course.

Accommodation
The cottages are personally supervised by the owners who live on site, and all are comfortably furnished with everything except bed linen which can be hired on request. There is a laundry room with automatic washing machine, tumble drier and ironing facilities. There is also a free standing freezer for extra food storage. Baby sitting services are available by arrangement. Pets are welcome.

There are three cottages - all have 3 bedrooms upstairs, one double, one twin and a bunk room. Downstairs is open plan with a living room, fitted kitchen, including full size electric cooker, fridge, microwave etc. and bathroom.

There is a shared laundry room with washing machine, drier and extra freezer. We welcome pets. We provide a cream tea on arrival. Cakes, potted trout, smoked trout, and fresh trout can be ordered.

Heron Cottage
A stable door leads into an open plan living area, with a breakfast bar and kitchen. The bathroom is downstairs with a bath and shower attachment.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one a with double bed, one with twin single beds and one with full sized bunk beds (this bunk room is larger than the other adjoining cottages). All beds have duvet, pillows and extra blankets provided. A cot and high chair are available on request.

Heron Sleeping Accommodation

Kingfisher Cottage
This is the middle cottage, the open plan living area is larger than the adjoining cottages, the kitchen is well fitted and has a breakfast bar which seats 6. The bathroom is downstairs with a bath and shower attachment.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one a with double bed, one with twin single beds and one with full sized bunk beds. All beds have duvet, pillows and extra blankets provided. A cot and high chair are available on request.

Kingfisher Interior

Rainbow Cottage
Rainbow cottage is not open plan, it has a separate kitchen, and a dining table and chairs in the living room. The bathroom has an electric shower but no bath.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one a with double bed, one with twin single beds and one with full sized bunk beds (this bunk room is smaller than the other adjoining cottages). All beds have duvet, pillows and extra blankets provided. A cot and high chair are available on request.
