Northam Burrows Country Park (2 miles) is close enough to reach on foot and a pleasure to walk: perfect if you’ve brought along your four-legged friend. Westward Ho! with its long sandy beach, Atlantic surf and seafront with lively amusements is only 3 miles away. Golfers might like to play a round at The Royal North Devon Golf Club (2 miles), a historic course that stretches out across the burrows. The ancient town of Bideford (4 miles) offers parks, galleries, shops and restaurants, as well as access to ferry rides over to the spectacular Lundy Island, where you might see puffins, seals and other wildlife.
