Set on an 80-acre working farm, this former barn nestles in the stunning Devonshire countryside and has the added benefit of a heated swimming pool, tennis lawn and games barn.

This cosy single-storey barn is situated just one mile from the picturesque village of Chulmleigh, where you can wander its pretty winding streets and explore the local shops, art galleries and pubs. For golfers, there is an 18-hole golf course at the heart of the village. With Exmoor National Park a few miles north, you have the choice of exploring scenic walks and hidden beauty spots with ease. There are also a wealth of National Trust properties and gardens to explore in the area, as well as RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way.

Stepping inside the barn, it is filled with character and is all on one level. There are two bedrooms within the property, with one king with a TV which then leads into a compact bunk room (please note that the top bunk is only suitable for one adult or two children), with a door leading out to the rear garden. The shower room has a walk in shower and WC and the lounge/diner has ample comfortable seating around a dining table, and a Smart TV to catch up on your favourite shows. If you prefer to stay in and cook rather than going out, the well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge with an ice compartment.

Heading outside the property is an enclosed private garden with a patio and lawn, with garden furniture and a BBQ. There is also a shared, heated, enclosed outdoor swimming pool, which is open from mid-May to end September, a play area, games barn with a pool table and a tennis lawn. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the many pathways which meander across the countryside.

We absolutely loved this holiday setting. With 2 children under the age of 10 it was perfect. Pool, games room, lawn tennis, walks and peaceful. Owners were very welcoming and friendly and the welcome Cream Tea was a real treat. Property had everything you needed and was very clean and cosy. Would visit again without a shadow of doubt. Great place to relax in the county side. Friendly owners, use of games room, pool and tennis court. Child friendly and easy to find! Scones on arrival were a lovely touch. Peace and quiet.

We booked this place last minute and were so happy we did - was a perfect little place for our first family holiday. Our son loved the pool and the cream tea on check in was a special treat :) Thank you for making this such a special memory

Warm welcome very nice location also very clean property but be prepared for bumpy ride along track leading to accommodation also our sat nav took directly to farm entrance.

We stayed in Mowhay Cottage and the place was absolutely lovely, the owners were always around in case of any problems and theyre very friendly. We were very fortunate with the weather and made use of the fantastic swimming pool daily. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the Mowhay Cottage, and it was so lovely to be greeted with a box of scones, jam, clotted cream and even some milk for a cuppa! The cottage was immaculate and was so cosy giving it a real home from home feel. The garden was enclosed and my pooch had fun following his nose at all the wonderful smells that he discovered! The Mowhay at Beara Farm had everything needed for our x3 night stay in Devon. The property was very clean and welcoming on arrival. The bed was comfortable, good shower with plenty of hot water, well equipped kitchen and a lovely location which was perfect for accessing the areas we were visiting. (Parking was a tad tight but this was only due to Read moresome building supplies taking up ground space whilst we were there and us having a large vehicle with an exceptionally bad turning circle). Lovely clean, well equipped, cosy cottage. The owners were really friendly and helpful, and the cottage has everything you could think of - the homemade scones on arrival went down a treat! There are very beautiful and peaceful surroundings. You do need to drive to get anywhere 'significant' but the swimming pool, games room and walks around the faRead morerm were more than enough to keep us (including 2 kids!) entertained during our stay. We had a wonderful stay. Its exactly what we like a peaceful location to relax and enjoy beautiful surroundings. The pool was the highlight for us as the weather meant we were in it almost every day. The cottage is beautiful with everything you need for an self-catering holiday - with some additional extras such as homemade scones with jams and cloRead moretted cream for our arrival. This was a charming and well-maintained cottage in great condition: clean and tidy. Its on a working farm but theres plenty of peace and quiet. There is a wonderful sense of having really got away from it all in this idyllic spot, with spectacular views of the Devon countryside. This was the perfect relaxed holiday we needed, with lots of wildlife and farm life to see. It's beautiful, peaceful and there's activities there if you want them. The owners are wonderful and so helpful, it was a pleasure staying in the Mowhay Cottage and I'd happily go again!
