Barn conversion property in a tranquil rural location, set within three acres of the owner’s land, and situated just outside the pretty village of Buckland Brewer.

Nestled within 3 acres of the owner’s land, Buckbury is a beautiful barn conversion that promises a tranquil stay to guests. Cosy and comfortable with a traditional rustic feel, this charming property is an opportunity to escape to the countryside in deep North Devon. Enjoy breakfast in the bright and airy kitchen/diner before heading out to the grounds to say hello to the roaming animals, or take the kids over to the shared trampoline and climbing equipment to stretch their legs before a day of exploring.

Whether you’re snuggling up in front of the wood burner or taking in the views from the Juliet balcony in the open-plan living area, you’ll feel immersed in rural life here. The entire house has a country cottage feel with contemporary touches that make a perfect mix of old and new. A reverse-level property, the living area has huge apex ceilings with exposed beams that make the room bright and airy, but it becomes a relaxing haven in the evening when you climb into the sleeping cabin in front of the fire with a book. Although the property is attached to the owner's home, you’re ensured complete privacy.

Before heading out into the North Devon countryside, be sure to explore the grounds and visit the animals, or walk down to the open pond at the end of the field. Then jump in the car to pretty harbour town Bideford (6 miles), where you can take a boat trip to Lundy Island and see the puffins and maybe even dolphins. Children will love the Milky Way Adventure Park (8 miles), and from there you could visit the historic village Clovelly (10 miles) with stunning coastal views and steep cobbled streets.

Located in a quiet, beautiful valley, where you can see more stars than I've ever seen from home at night, this 'upside down' converted barn is comfortable, well equipped and has friendly chicken neighbours too! We loved our holiday.

A country idyll. Stunning views, wonderful hosts and perfect facilities for families. No pollution, no noise, no traffic and the only reminder of a flight path was courtesy of the magnificent geese. If you love animals (here, there be chickens!), appreciate the charm of the country and need to escape the city hum drum...this is the place to be.
