Scandinavian style property situated in an idyllic, private location, in a quiet valley accessed via a small bridge and overlooked by the glorious Devon hills on the edge of Barnstaple.

Sitting on the decked veranda of this Scandinavian-style lodge, guests can relax with al fresco drinks and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the owner’s trout fishery whilst taking in the view over the pretty pond directly infront of the property. The on-site cafe is great for nipping out for a coffee and cake, a cream tea, or some of the fishery’s own oak-smoked trout.

Light and airy with a homely feel, this lodge-style property has been laid out in a studio design, with the sleeping area at the far end of the room separated from the lounge by a half-height screen. The vaulted ceiling adds height to the room, creating a sense of space which feels even larger when you open the patio doors out onto the decked veranda where a table, chairs, and sun loungers ensure that guests can really enjoy this quiet space.

Keen anglers are going to find it hard to leave the fishery within which this property is situated, however, those who can tear themselves away will find plenty to see and do in the local area. Nip into Barnstaple just 3 miles away to stock up on supplies, grab a bite of lunch, or enjoy an evening at the theatre. The beautiful beaches in the area are unmissable, with the expansive beach at Saunton Sands (9 miles) being particularly impressive stretching out for over 3 miles ensuring that you can always find a spot even in the height of summer.

Kingfisher is a jewel in a crown, its ideally situated on a fishery & is extremely peaceful but close enough to Barnstaple, about 10 mins for amenities. The property is beautifully decorated throughout, all open plan with a balcony overlooking a large pond. The owners are very welcoming people, cannot wait to return.

A great little spot for a couple (ok I was down for some surfing with my teenage son). Very comfortable cottage with all the space you need. Well equipped and as the weather suddenly turned a lot colder, nice and warm. The wood burner is excellent. Setting is lovely, with a deck overlooking a little pond and very private. The cottage was well equipped comfortable warm and clean.The decking good for sitting out on warm days and watching the fish.The tea shop on site was excellent for light lunches(smoked trout pate) and cream teas.Very friendly family run trout farm.
