Situated just on the outskirts of one of the most picturesque coastal towns in South Devon, this charming property promises a lavish retreat as well as a great base to explore all that the county has to offer.

Situated in the beautiful village of Cockington, this cottage is true to its name. The perfect romantic bolthole, its charming exterior with Mediterranean-style sandy walls and huge painted entrance door give you an idea of what is to come inside. A contemporary space big enough for two but cosy enough to deserve the title, it doesn’t disappoint with its lovely warm living space. Upstairs, the master suite with seating area and huge wooden sleigh bed is the perfect place to relax at the end of a long day.

Welcome in the first light of the day from this lovely bedroom, and saunter downstairs for a light breakfast in the little courtyard if the weather allows. In the cooler winter months, the open-plan kitchen and living space is also a great place to eat. Winter nights are made for relaxing on the sofa with the warm lighting giving a feel of cosiness and calm.

Cockington must be one of the most quintessential places to visit in the South West, and this is something you’ll find yourself saying a lot as you discover the rest of the pretty villages of this part of the South Devon coast. But it really is. Colour-washed thatched cottages and pretty gardens fill the lanes and there is even a horse and carriage to take you on a tour around the village. For a day out, the harbour town of Torquay is only 2 miles to the south of the property and is a great place for shopping and sunbathing.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Great quiet location in Cockington village with lots of country walks in the vicinity. The owners are experienced in holiday rentals and it shows as there are next to no improvements that we could think of. Torquay town centre is walkable if you are reasonably fit and the marina is the place to head to with lots of cafes, restaurants and small shopRead mores. Lots of National Trust properties nearby and Babbacombe, Dartmouth are well worth a visit. Hide

This is a lovely cottage and location. Paula and Leon are friendly and helpful in every way they can be without being intrusive. Flowers, scones with Devon cream and jam on arrival was a nice touch. Despite the inclement weather we did enjoy our stay and would definitely have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family.

Lovely welcoming host, Paula greeted us on our arrival. There was a gorgeous cream tea on the kitchen table to tuck into after our journey. The weather during our week's stay was just awful - it rained heavily every day. Thank goodness for our cottage, so very cosy and had everything we could wish for. Thanks again Paula and Leon.
