The cottage is one of four properties set within the courtyard and there is also a pleasant sun-trap shared garden to enjoy. Stroll the streets of Appledore with its maze of narrow lanes and closely packed, brightly painted cottages which are decorated with hanging baskets and were the former homes of fishermen. The Maritime Museum in Appledore explains the history of the village and there are pleasant walks along the bustling quayside and along the river towards Bideford. A variety of pubs and restaurants in the village offer a wide range of cuisine and local seafood or visit some of the galleries showcasing local arts and crafts. A seasonal ferry takes passengers across the estuary to the pretty little village of Instow, with its sheltered stretch of sandy beach, 17th century pier and cosmopolitan yacht club. For beach lovers, the 2 miles of golden sandy surfing beach at Westward Ho! is under 1 mile and there are other attractions and leisure facilities all within easy reach. The pannier market town of Bideford is a 10-minute drive with its shops and restaurants and is home to The Oldenburg for day trips to Lundy Island.

This delightful cottage offers cosy accommodation for two and as soon as guests enter the property, they will immediately feel just how homely and welcoming the cottage feels. The modern, spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area is located on the ground floor and is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dining table. Heading upstairs you will find the cosy lounge where you can settle down in front of the TV, watch a DVD or step out through the French doors to the private balcony area and enjoy a drink or al fresco meal. A door leads from the lounge into the pretty double bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

As well as having sole use of the private, enclosed balcony, guests also have use of the pleasant shared sun-trap garden and courtyard with seating and BBQ.

Wonderful cosy cottage. Loved the balcony overlooking the great garden. Charly our dog loved both. We will certainly be rebooking in lovely Appledore. Bed was extremely comfortable and our holiday was very relaxed with wonderfully hot weather.

The cottage is in a lovely setting and really close to the quay, pubs and shops. It is well protected from the weather and is lovely and cosy. Chelsie was really helpful during our stay.

Cottages all colourfully painted different colours and the shrubs and plants in the entrance area and communal courtyards were lovely this time of year. The main entrance to nos 5 hides a little gem. It is difficult to park in Appledore and the purchase of a weekly parking ticket ( as advised by you ) was very useful. A very comfortable and peaceful place to stay.
