Single-storey wooden lodge situated on a small leisure complex in the rural parish of Highampton in mid-Devon, within easy reach of some of Devon and Cornwall’s top attractions.

This property enjoys a mid-Devon location, surrounded by beautiful countryside, and just a twenty-minute drive from the stunning Exmoor National Parking, offering miles of scenic walking routes for all abilities. A thirty-minute drive to the west of the property, brings guests to the popular Cornish seaside town of Bude, with its choice of beaches and family-friendly facilities, including a tidal pool, mini-golf, and an array of restaurants and cafes. For an altogether different seaside experience, a visit to the private Devonshire village of Clovelly, just twenty miles north of the property, gives visitors a taste of Devon in years gone by, with its heritage museum, walled garden, traffic-free streets, and craft workshops, as well as working harbour and small beach, making it an idyllic place for a daytrip.

Approaching this property across the private decked patio, brings guests directly to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its sofa and comfortable chairs, space-saving folding dining table, TV, and DVD. The kitchen area is equipped with everything that guests will need to prepare their favourite dishes, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. There is no washing machine in the property itself, but there are coin-operated laundry facilities on site, should they be required. The two bedrooms are also located on the ground floor, the first of which is a restful double room, the other being a comfortable twin room. There is also a shower room with WC.

Outside, there is a private, enclosed decked patio with garden furniture, whilst those who wish to enjoy a BBQ can do so at the communal BBQ area which is situated next to the onsite fishing lake. A welcome addition to the site, is the heated indoor pool and sauna, which are open all-year-round, and there is a children’s play area for younger guests. There is one allocated parking space provided.

Pleasant cottage a trifle noisy when it rains, internet connection slow or non existant. Pool was good and fishing lake had plenty of fish. Nearest beach at Widemouth or Bude 30 mins by car.

Great little cottage. Well equipped and clean. Nice and quiet. We swam every day, often having the pool to ourselves. Quiet but fairly central location for exploring Devon and Cornwall.
