The open-plan design means you can keep an eye on cheeky younger guests and enjoy sociable evenings filling the kitchen/lounge/diner with chatter. Settle on the comfortable sofa and admire the views or take a seat in the enclosed courtyard to relax before dinner at the dining table. The seaside theme continues into the three bedrooms where you can drift off.

Lace up your shoes or take to two wheels and hop on the Tarka Trail which runs right past your door. Also, winding its way past your home-from-home is the South West Coast Path which you can walk for beautiful views and vistas. Fremington Quay (4.5 miles) is the perfect pitstop with a friendly cafe serving up delectable treats to fuel the journey home. Lining the streets of Instow are waterfront restaurants and bars which you can visit after a day on the local beach or a trip to Westward Ho! (5.5 miles) where long golden sands, amusement arcades and the opportunity to surf awaits.

Driftwood is everything a holiday cottage should be - calming, relaxing, clean and well-equipped. We really enjoyed our holiday, staying in quite happily by choice if we were tired as we were comfortable. Rachael & Roger were lovely hosts - friendly & welcoming without being intrusive. We have booked again for next year!

A lovely beach cottage very near the sea/estuary. . Clean and comfy and the owners were keen to make sure we were happy with everything. Near a Royal Marines base but watching some of there exercises on the beach was really interesting. Sunsets over the sea from the cottage!

We really enjoyed our time at Driftwood. The cottage was immaculate. The owners Rachel and Roger (who live next door) have put a lot of thought in to it and couldn't have been more helpful. Ideally placed with the Tarka Trail on one side and the beach on the other, and a short walk to some very nice eateries. Would definitely recommend this cottageRead more and hope to stay here again. This is a lovely cottage, comfortable, super clean and great decor. The owners are really hospitable and accommodating so it's a home from home. The Tarka trail runs one side, the beach and dunes the other side and location wise it's close to Bideford and Barnstaple. If you want relaxing, this is for you.
