This delightful North Devon cottage is the ideal romantic retreat for a couple’s getaway. A studio-style property in a small complex of barn conversions, it is close to some of the best walking and cycling routes around. The property is dog-friendly, so your four-legged friends can also take full advantage of the fantastic walking country in and around North Devon.
To the front of the Cottage there is partly exposed stonework and traditional slate roofing which overlooks an attractive garden with well planted borders. Inside, the open plan studio features a well equipped kitchen/dining area with fridge, induction hob and combination oven with microwave function. All you need to make a romantic meal for two or an alfresco breakfast. The living area is light and airy with exposed wooden beams. The double bed and sofa surround the wood burner which is perfect for a cosy night in with a movie. There is also a door leading to the shower room. Outside to the rear of the cottage you can enjoy the private, south facing, enclosed large garden with gravelled seating area and patio furniture, ideal to sit out in the morning for breakfast or in the evening to watch the glorious sunsets. With no light pollution, it is the perfect spot for stargazing and you will be amazed by the night sky. Beyond the garden there are extensive shared wild gardens, meadows and natural ponds rich in wildlife.
The beautiful 14th Century fishing village of Clovelly, with its visitors centre and steep cobbled streets is just 3 miles away, while the Hartland Heritage Coast area and its spectacular cliff top walking routes are also close by. With a lovely sandy beach, outdoor sea pool, surfing spots and water sports, many shops and restaurants, both Bude and Widemouth Bay are a short drive away. The picturesque beach of Buck Mills is only 5 miles away and the bustling Bideford town, with its various shops and Pannier market is just 12 miles away. It also has access to the Tarka Trail with miles of safe tracks, perfect for walking or cycling.
