The second floor apartment of a converted detached former farmhouse, situated in the stunning South Hams, which is perfectly based for exploring Devon.

Set in the beautiful South Hams close to the stunning Dartmoor landscape and Lannacombe beach (2 miles), this apartment offers a relaxing stay to guests in the middle of the countryside. Situated on the second floor of a large country house, it benefits from characterful sloping ceilings and a calming neutral decor. Take a walk down to the shared garden through a gate and across a narrow road, soaking up the afternoon sun on the garden furniture looking out at the scenery.

Embrace your elevated position and take in the vistas from every window in the property, with some of the best views from the main bedroom across beautiful rolling hills. Unwind in the bright and airy open-plan living area with sloping ceilings, snuggled up with a good book or in front of the TV. Although the large window allows lots of light in, the room becomes a cosy haven in the evening with the curtains drawn and the lamps switched on. Retire to the double room or the twin room for a great night’s sleep, settled into the country way of life and ready for the next adventurous day.

The South Hams is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it’s easy to see why, since it stretches out to Dartmoor only 32 miles away. If walking is your thing, make sure you take the footpath to the coast accessed directly from the house. You’ll end up at Lannacombe beach (2 miles), a superb stretch of sand nestled within a bay. Carry on along the South West Coast Path to Start Point Lighthouse (2 miles), before reaching Beesands (4 miles) with its mile-long shingle beach.

Fantastic accommodation in stunning countryside, lovely hosts who had great suggestions for local walks. My two dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Absolutely fantastic. We had a great break at Ferndale, breathtaking scenery and a lovely place to stay. Clare & Johnie were very friendly and provided helpful advice on places to visit. We would jump at the chance to visit again.

We had a fabulous time. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location offers beautiful countryside and coastland - we even saw a seal (thanks to a heads up from our hosts)!
