Attractive two-bedroomed cottage enjoying a central yet quiet location in the English Riviera town of Brixham, situated just a few metres from the town’s bustling harbour.

Nestled in a traffic-free zone in the harbour town of Brixham, three-storey Giffin Cottage offers a quiet retreat to the coast for holidaymakers that seek the convenience of plenty of attractions, shops and restaurants. Thoughtfully styled with beautiful period features, this property has lots of character that makes staying here a dream. Wake up to the smell of tea and toast, and head down to the breakfast bar in the stunning kitchen/diner that was hand-built from reclaimed wood.

Whether you’re curled up in front of the wood burner or enjoying the superb views from the balconette in the second-floor double bedroom, you’ll feel comfortable and relaxed here. The interiors are light and bright with exposed beams and rustic features dotted throughout, ensuring that the property doesn’t lose touch with its traditional roots. Both bedrooms are decorated to a high standard in classy farmhouse-chic style, but you may have to fight with your other guests over who gets the room with the harbour views. If the weather is nice, make use of the enclosed seating area and enjoy a couple of al fresco cocktails as the sun sets.

Walk just 114 metres to the harbour to take a wildlife cruise around some of Torbay’s spectacular coastline, where you may spot seals, herons, or even a pod of dolphins. If you’d rather admire the sea from the beach, quiet St. Mary’s Bay is 2 miles from the centre, or Breakwater (0.7 miles) is popular with scuba divers. Find out about Brixham’s rich history at the Brixham Heritage Museum (650 metres), or climb aboard the replica of the Golden Hind (90 metres) and get stuck into its hands-on exhibits.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

A lovely little cottage - the steps to access it though shouldnt be underestimated! Loading and unloading can be a bit difficult unless youre lucky enough to get in one of the loading bays in front of the shops. Would highly recommend a parking permit, we paid 35 for the week which covered all Torbay Council car parks. Overall we had a lovely stay Read more- tastefully decorated, authentic cottage, perfect for accessing the bars and restaurants on the harbour, the many beaches and Shoalstone Pool. Hide

We did not realize the amount of steps and how steep the steps were , next time we will try for a property that is lower.

My friend and I took our 8 year old daughters away for a girls weekend in Brixham. We lucked upon Giffin Cottage which was perfect in every way. It's tucked away behind the main street on the harbour - up some winding stairs, past gorgeous cottages and set in a quaint little garden. It's set back and private yet a stone's throw to the harbour, fabuRead morelous walks, amazing cafe's and restaurants. The cottage itself is beautifully equipped with simple necessities that made our stay so lovely. The decor is very tasteful and homely - perfect for a home away from home. We had a couple of great nights out and a couple of great nights in playing cards, watching tv and just loving the Brixham vibe. We walked all around the harbour and over to Berry Head. We visited Churston Manor House, went crabbing, caught the ferry to Torquay and also had a lovely few hours in Totnes - an absolutely beautiful local village. All our needs were met in every way! We will definitely be back! Hide
