The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is on the top floor of this property so everyone can benefit from the far-reaching views of the countryside and the light that floods in through the windows. Evenings in this space feel exceptionally cosy, sink into the sofa under the attractive vaulted oak beamed ceiling. There are two stylishly decorated bedrooms downstairs, a king-size and a twin, as well as a shower room. Venturing outside, the barn benefits from a private patio area with garden furniture which overlooks the shared gardens and orchard. A shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer in the grounds. Allocated off-road parking for one car is provided.

The UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast (7 miles) is the ultimate destination for fossil hunting. Some of the coastal rocks are up to 200 million years old and if you want to compare your finds head to the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum to explore the collection of 10,000 specimens. If you’d like to interact with some living beings, travel over the border to Dorset to visit the only public swannery in the UK at Abbotsbury (25 miles); the whole family will be delighted to meet the resident animals. Those seeking some retail therapy are also catered for with Taunton (22 miles) and Exeter (27 miles) within easy reach, both steeped in history and fantastic for shopping.

The cider barn is very well furnished, Grandson had a lovely spacious bedroom with 2 single beds in, and plenty of clothes space, our room had a very comfortable big bed and again plenty of space to walk around and for hanging clothes, we even had room for our dogs crate in the bedroom, and bathroom again very good but no bath shower was brilliant Read moreconstant hot water. All on floor level. Up stairs was a good size living room with kitchen area, great view of the countryside. All you need 10/10 Hide

We arrived at a time to suit us. Great location for exploring Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth, Beer etc. Two pubs within walking distance and a supermarket just 1.5 miles away in Axminster. The lounge and kitchen was on the first floor offering great views including sheep and lambs in the next field. Lovely, well-kept and tidy little cottage with a wonderful aspect in a pretty, quaint village: what more could you want? The farm shop within a few minutes walk was great (but beware when crossing the main road). Watching the lambs frolicking in the field behind while enjoying a morning cuppa was a great way to start a day.
