Set on a quiet road on the north coast of Exmoor National Park, this cosy cottage is set high on the cliffside offering beautiful seaside views. Within a half-mile walk, Lynton is known as Little Switzerland and is home to a plethora of pretty shops, tea rooms, pubs and eateries, as well as an excellent museum and the famous cliff railway which leads sedately down to Lynmouth – a quaint resort clustered with fishermen's cottages. Walk, cycle, ride and fish in this scenic landscape, and marvel at the unique geology of the Valley of the Rocks (1.5 miles) and Wringcliff Beach (2 miles). The National Trust's Watersmeet (3 miles) is an idyll of gorges, white water and ancient woodland.

Saunton Sands (26 miles) is a UNESCO Biosphere beach where Robbie Williams shot the video for ‘Angels'. Walk the Coleridge Way to Porlock Weir in Somerset (11 miles); it's a picturesque harbour village with thatched cottages and some excellent independent shops, eateries and marvellous maritime history. Beyond, the Quantocks await (28 miles).
