This semi detached property is situated in the rolling countryside of North Devon, 3 miles from the pretty village of Bishops Tawton, where visitors will find a welcoming pub which welcomes dogs and a handy village shop. The town of Barnstaple is just 7 miles north of the property and offers a wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants, a theatre, and cinema. For those who like to spend time exploring the great outdoors, the beautiful Exmoor National Park is just a short drive away, offering miles of scenic walks, cycleways and coastal paths. Of course, Devon is known for its beaches and seaside resorts, and the location of this property means that beach lovers will be spoilt for choice, with Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands, Croyde, and Woolacombe all being within a reasonable driving distance. Other places of interest in the area include Exmoor Zoo, Combe Martin Wildlife Park, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Dartington Crystal.

As you arrive at this remarkable 16th-century Devon retreat in a small hamlet, take a moment to enjoy the grandness of this beautiful thatched property. As you enter the cottage the traditional hallway with its slate floor and beautiful church pew it is the perfect spot to kick off your walking boots and hang your jackets after your day of exploring all that this county has to offer. Following on through this delightful property you will enter the light and airy kitchen area. The kitchen offers an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. Head back into the hallway and ahead of you is the newly fitted shower room, with double shower and WC. To your right is the breathtaking lounge/dining area which boasts an array of traditional features. The fabulous lounge area offers a warm welcome with the inglenook fireplace with wood burner taking centre stage, allowing you to sit back and relax amongst the rich, soft furnishings and enjoy a night catching up with friends or watch your favourite programme on the Smart TV. Head up the cottage style stairs to rest your head where you will find the three bedrooms, two beautiful double rooms boasting traditional touches and a bunk room fit for the princes and princess of the party. The cottage was advertised as tranquil & peaceful,a place to get away from it all, turned out to be far from truth.Did not state cottage had been split into 2, photos made it look detached.Booked for 3 nights but left after 2 as there was a child screaming & doors slamming next door for hours, walls very thin. Went to bed 10pm and noise was awful, chRead moreild screaming & throwing things around until 11.30.Totally unacceptable! Had to book another property for next night. Next door not a holiday let. a really wonderful cottage and made our holiday in Devon extra special by having such a great home to stay in for the week. Everything you could need was catered for in the home. A great rural location giving us the benefit of tranquility whilst being within easy reach of the main towns and beautiful coastal areas.

Absolute beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location, the road to and from the cottage is tight and luckily we only had someone coming the other way a couple of times. Had everything we needed and was a great base to explore North Devon. We will return one day.

Lovely cottage and a true home from home - great location although the access lanes are very narrow. Very clean and comfortable and our dog Molly loved the garden. Brilliant shirt break - could have stayed longer !!!!

Everything you need is provided for a comfortable stay. Excellent location, quiet and out of the way, access along very narrow lanes, look out for pot holes. Only one Bathroom which is first class, but down stairs, not ideal if you need to get up in the night.
