An opportunity to stay at this Grade II Listed house surrounded by smaller cottages and referred to as a “village within a village” in the heart of Appledore, offering a truly unique experience in a very special location.

This fabulous retreat is perfect for a large group of ten friends or family groups, with five bedrooms, three bathrooms and plenty of opportunities to socialise together. Appledore is brimming with things to do and places to visit, and you won’t be far from popular Devonshire attractions.

Set in a Mediterranean-style courtyard surrounded by colourful terraced cottages, this is a wonderfully characterful property to base yourselves at. Arranged over three floors, there is plenty of space for you to socialise, or take some time out relaxing. Enjoy cooking and eating together in the kitchen/diner before chilling in the lounge watching a movie. Upstairs are two king-size bedrooms and one bunk bedroom, while the further two bedrooms are on the top floor in the eaves of the house. The top floor bedrooms offer delightful views across the river and estuary. Outside, through the shared courtyard, head through the pretty archway and find a private south-facing walled garden. Frolic on the lawn or dine alfresco on the patio. There’s also a separate garden room, clad in wood and containing a fridge, sink, WC and a pool table.

Sitting on the estuary of the Taw and Torridge Rivers, Appledore is a charming village with a wide range of pubs, restaurants and shops. Take the passenger ferry to Instow and enjoy a day on the beach, or head 3 miles to the Victorian resort of Westward Ho! For fun days out as a family, visit The Big Sheep (4 miles) or The Milky Way Adventure Park (11 miles).

We stayed at the property as a party of 6 adults at the beginning of May for a week & could not fault the property at all. It was of a very high standard , exactly as the pictures depict , exceptionally clean , very well equipped , lovely garden ( note a few steep steps up ) with the addition of a new bench and seating for 12 people ( not in the piRead morecs ) ,really enjoyed pool room ,excellent location , lovely welcome basket of goodies including a bottle of Prosecco. Would definitely book again ! Hide
