There is much to see and do in the immediate area, including walking, watersports and fishing at the nearby Tamar Lakes. You will also be perfectly placed just eight miles from the ever popular golden sands of Bude and Widemouth Bay, making this the ideal location for those looking to experience all that the beautiful North Devon and North Cornish coasts have to offer. Also within an easy drive, further spectacular beaches and idyllic traditional fishing villages can be enjoyed, including Port Isaac, Padstow and Crackington Haven in Cornwall, and Westward Ho!, Saunton and Croyde in Devon. Other attractions accessible from here include Hartland Abbey and Quay, Clovelly, and the Milky Way and Big Sheep adventure parks.

Stepping into the pretty property you will be immediately greeted by a lovely open-plan kitchen/diner which has a beautiful slate floor. Here you will find everything you need to make a home cooked meal including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, additional fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine. Sat beside the kitchen/diner you will find a cosy little lounge with a Smart TV and DVD. There is also a useful ground floor WC which is accessed via this room. Heading up the stairs and onto the first floor you will find the two bedrooms, a double with a TV/DVD and a twin. A spacious bathroom with bath, shower and WC is also located on this floor.

Venturing outside there is some seating directly to the front of the property, and a private lawn area with summerhouse, garden furniture and charcoal BBQ, to the rear. Ample off-road parking is provided.

It's a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. You'd have a job to find better.

Set in a lovely area, the Monks Rest has everything that you would need. We particularaly liked the fact that there weren't endless instructions as there are with some self-catering cottages. We were given the run of the farm and our dog liked her walks around it. Really enjoyed our stay!

Lovely cottage on a working farm, had all the facilities we needed for a relaxing break and was a great location for getting to the coast.

The best review we could give for our stay, is to say WE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. Tony, the host, was always on hand, and such a warm and friendly man. Lily, the springer spaniel was a constant visitor, and we absolutely adored her. We also loved feeding the chickens, horse and donkeys. There was a lovely spot down by the pond where we spent many an Read morehour looking (and finding), the fish. All in all, we had a fantastic time, and would gladly return. Hide
