Handsome period cottage situated in the heart of the attractive fishing village of Appledore, located on the estuary of the Rivers Taw and Torridge in North Devon.

Indulge in a romantic seaside break at this quaint little cottage, set in the picturesque fishing village of Appledore. You'll love the huge traditional stone fireplace and wood burner, the perfect place to snuggle up with a hot chocolate after a browse among the arts and crafts stores of the village quay. You're more than welcome to bring your four-legged friend with you; there are plenty of interesting walkies along the South West Coast Path which conveniently runs through Appledore.

On entering the cottage you'll be struck by the welcoming aura and warm tones of the open lounge and dining area. An exposed, stone fireplace acts as an eye-catching centrepiece to the room and comes with its own warming wood burner. Adjoining the lounge is the classic yet contemporary kitchen which has everything you need to cook a romantic meal for two. Up the steep, open-sided stairs you’ll find the soft, pastel double bedroom which also has a beautiful exposed, stone wall feature fireplace.

An 800-metre walk from the front door will bring you to Appledore's idyllic quayside, where you will find a wealth of pubs and restaurants to try. Looking across the estuary of the rivers Taw and Torridge you will spot the neighbouring waterfront village of Instow, just a 5-mile drive or short ferry ride away. If you're looking for some beach time, look no further than the glorious, golden sands of Westward Ho! beach, a 2-mile drive away from the cottage.

The cottage is quite small, but we knew that and found it perfectly adequate and well equipped. The location is fantastic but a shame there is no outside space to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

Perfectly situated near the waterfront with convenient access to all the local facilities. Very well equipped and comfortable. As might be expected of an old, terraced, character cottage a little on the dark side as there are only front windows, and there is no courtyard or garden belonging to the cottage. Very near to the estuary but doesnt have vRead moreiews of the estuary like others further up the road have as there are properties immediately behind. A great base in this pretty, unspoilt village Hide

Lovely cottage and well maintained. The only problems we had on arriving was parking outside the property to unload. One 4x4 driver who was waiting behind was not happy and she made her views known. In the end we drove off and located a car-park nearby and carried luggage back to the cottage.

Lovely cosy cottage in a quiet almost car free street. The gas 'log burner' adds to a lovely snug atmosphere. Close to local pubs, shops and take a ways. Ideal location to explore the local area. Be prepared for a short walk to park the car in the near by car park or on the road, a very small price to pay for a great cottage.
