This delightful cottage offers the perfect blend of chocolate box charm and fresh, contemporary style and space.

West of the River Otter and conveniently located on the A3052 between Sidmouth and Exeter, the charming village of Newton Poppleford is the ideal base for an adventure. Choose from exhilarating walks, fossil finding and rock pooling along the Jurassic coast, sampling fresh fish from quirky seafront restaurants. Use your last traces of energy to challenge the family in the games room, or simply curl up in front of the inglenook fireplace with a hot chocolate, relishing in the warmth of the wood burner.

Combining period features with contemporary style, this thatched cottage is a haven for large families. Start your day sipping coffee at the breakfast bar, sizzling bacon in the well-equipped kitchen or stepping through the French doors to eat alfresco. Watch a film in the cosy lounge by the wood burner, or enjoy some healthy competition in the games room. Upstairs you’ll find the main bathroom and three bedrooms; choose from a king-size, double, or twin. The garden features a BBQ, summerhouse and swing-set for afternoons in the sunshine. Children must be supervised as the garden is separated from the road by an embankment.

Set 4.5 miles from Sidmouth, you are well placed to enjoy the art galleries, independent shops and quirky cafes of this delightful seaside town. Take a scenic drive to the tiny village of Branscombe (8.5 miles away), or venture along the clifftop to Beer for a crab sandwich while overlooking Lyme Bay. Children will love visiting the residents of the nearby donkey sanctuary (6 miles), or enjoy a day out experiencing the breathtaking views of the Seaton Tramway (12 miles away).

A fantastic property, great location, well equipped and extremely spacious. Perfect for us (family of four) and grandparents. There was a teething issue as the heating wasn't working when we arrived (not what you need when a storm is brewing but thankfullya lovely fireplace in the front room) but Paul, the owner, had an engineer sent first thing thRead moree next day to fix it so we were soon toasty warm. Would definitely recommend and will revisit. Hide

The cottage was a real home from home with everything you could need. It is well situated for visiting all the lovely beaches and towns nearby. The weather was great during our stay so the garden was well used for relaxing in the sunny evenings. We did not want to come home.

This Cottage was spacious and comfortable and very well appointed. The owners had gone to every length to make sure everything you could possibly need for the holiday was available. Although the sea was a short drive away the location of the property was great for exploring the local area.
