There is so much to see and do locally for guests staying at this two-bedroom property which sits alongside two others in the village of Hennock, just 13 miles from Exeter. Perfect for couples or small families, you can explore the local area then come home to snuggle by the wood burner or fire up the BBQ (on request from the owners).

A traditional Devonshire cream tea awaits guests on arrival at this homely property - a welcome treat for those who have had a long drive. Sit in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner to enjoy your scones, or open the patio doors and eat them on your patio seating area to make the most of the sunshine. In addition to this space, there are also shared gardens for guests to enjoy, as well as a shared games room with a dart board and table tennis, perfect if you’re feeling competitive! Lovely cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings ideal for walking holidays. Great facilities on site but be prepared to walk up steep paths surrounding the cottage (walking pole comes in handy!). The Alpacas were just a joy to see everyday and found ourselves talking to them on passing.

We had a great few days in this hidden gem. Below are my personal pros and cons: Pros: - clean and cosy - beautiful nature all around you - direct access to footpaths that take you into wooded areas - friendly owners - my daughter loved the games barn - secluded, private terrace Cons: - no dishwasher and kitchen is small, so you have to wash dishesRead more constantly - oven and microwave are one, a bit fiddly to make it work Hide

Primrose cottage was perfect for a January break, spotlessly clean, warm, cosy and well equipped. The welcome cream tea, pastries and flowers were much appreciated. Such a beautiful peaceful setting.
