This beautifully presented terraced cottage nestles in an idyllic village setting just a short walk from the gorgeous pebble beach and provides a wonderfully relaxed retreat for couples and small families alike.

You will be perfectly placed nestled in the centre of the historic village of Branscombe where the local church is the oldest in Devon and dates back to the 10th Century. From here the delightful pebble beach is accessed via a half-mile relatively flat walk across stunning National Trust land, is one of the quietest in the area and boasts a beach cafe. Foodies will also be spoilt for choice with a well-renowned village pub opposite the cottage, another just a short walk, and a selection of farm shops in the locality. Other attractions and places of interest close-by include The Donkey Sanctuary which offers free entry and an impressive cafe, walks around the Seaton Wetlands, Lyme Regis which is renowned for its bustling harbour, delightful beaches and shops, and the picture-postcard village of Beer, with its shingle beach and fresh seafood.

Step inside this delightful character cottage, with some low beams and ceilings, and you will immediately find yourself in the cosy and welcoming lounge. Here comfortable seating is arranged around a warming wood-burner and a Smart TV, and provides a lovely place to relax after a busy day exploring. From here venture into the kitchen/diner where you will find that that cosy and characterful ambiance continues. This lovely sociable space includes a dining table, chairs and a pretty window seat, and is the perfect place to enjoy relaxed meals. A door leading to outside also means that you can dine alfresco with ease during warm weather. The compact yet perfectly appointed kitchen area is also brilliantly appointed and offers an electric oven/combination microwave and induction hob and a fridge/freezer, plus there is also a small useful utility area with a washing machine. Heading upstairs onto the first floor you will discover the beautiful bedrooms, the first of which is a stylish double bedroom and a single bedroom. Then completing the offering inside the cottage is a lovely bathroom with a shower over bath and a WC.

The small sun-trap garden is accessed via stepping over a narrow acess pathway to the rear of the cottage and then up a small flight of steps. This magical space has been carefully designed and is completely organic. Here you will find a bench and can enjoy sitting and watching the buzzards that soar during the day; and the absence of light pollution means that after dark you can enjoy the stars and spotting the resident bats as they take flight. Roadside parking is nearby (subject to availability).

The cottage was much to our liking. Very clean, plenty of hot water and a nice friendly restaurant close by. The owner was very helpful with a blocked loo, which was fixed within hours - while we were out.

I loved the simplicity, and the back to nature feel of Roslyn Cottage also the humor and quirkiness within!! Set within a national trust village. Lots of local info, along with OS maps of the local area which was great... a lovely comfy cottage... Only real issue might be the parking if staying in high summer. P.s. learn to reverse your vehicle up Read moreand down narrow roads !!! Hide

Our stay in the cottage was fine, it was very clean and comfortable place. The only downside for us was that the location was quite remote and it was a problem for those who dont drive as public transport, including the taxis in that area were scarce. Overall, the place is fine.

I think the cleaning needs to be better when paying that amount of money and not getting in till 4 pm . I had to wash mugs and some kitchen equipment before use . There were cobwebs all over . It was very dusty too. . The garden was beautiful but quite overgrown . Wouldnt stop me going again though . As it was a well restored cottage .

Roslyn Cottage is perfectly situated for a gloriously relaxing holiday in a most beautiful part of Devon. A cute little cottage with a quiet back cottage garden. Wonderful to be able to walk along the footpath to Branscombe beach and cliff path. We didn't use the car all week, other to pop to Waitrose for a quick shop top up mid week. Superb cottage, sympathetically refurbished, well equipped and very comfortable.A great location for walks with (or without) the dog to the beach or along the South West Coast Path. Beer village is an easy 2.5 mile walk, or, if you're less energetic, the Masons Arms is 20 feet with great food, beer and service.

A cute cottage brimming with character, with just a short walk to the beach, what's not to love? Plus the cottage was very cool during the hot weather. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A gorgeous cottage - it was cool in the heat and would be cosy in the winter (in fact Im going to book to go again in the winter it was so lovely). It was beautifully furnished - really stylish, retro vibe but also comfortable and practical.
