Appledore hosts a choice of great family pubs, chip shops and restaurants, as well as offering art galleries, independent shops and the North Devon Maritime Museum. There are lovely coastal walks to be enjoyed, and you can head a couple of miles along the coast to Westward Ho! with its miles of golden sandy beach. Appledore is close to the A39 (2 miles) which opens the whole of North Devon up, with family attractions nearby including The BIG Sheep (4 miles), Tapeley Park (4.5 miles) and The Milky Way Adventure Park (13 miles).
