With the best of North Devon’s coast and countryside on offer, this single-storey holiday cottage is perfect for families. Surrounded by acres of green fields, you can soak up the tranquillity and enjoy the sights and sounds of the country, but you can also spend your days surfing, sunbathing or sandcastle building on the golden, sandy beach less than a mile away at Westward Ho! This property also has the benefits of a shared indoor plunge pool (Apr-Oct) and play barn.

Clean and comfortable, this delightful property occupies a great location for special family holidays. Stepping inside, you’ll find yourself in the seaside-themed, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can spend quality time together. The kitchen is well-equipped so that you can cook up your favourite treats to enjoy at the dining table before snuggling up on the sofas for the evening. There are two well-presented bedrooms: one super-king size and one twin, both with en-suite shower rooms. Outside, a lovely patio and garden can be accessed via an optional ramp for al fresco dining.

The bustling seaside town of Westward Ho! has a range of independent shops, eateries and activities on offer, but should you want to venture further, it’s a great base for exploring North Devon. The South West Coast Path takes you along the stunning coastline to secluded beaches such as Abbotsham Cliffs, Bucks Mills and Peppercombe. Whilst 3 miles away, the historic, market town of Bideford has a lovely range of independent shops/eateries. You can also hire a bike from here and cycle along the Tarka Trail to Instow or Barnstaple. Award-winning attractions The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are a great day out for families (9 miles).

Smiley cottage was a real surprise, very spacious and had everything you would need for a self catering holiday. It even had equipment for a disabled guest which was great as we forgot to take our toilet seat riser but found one in the bedroom storage cupboard along with a seat for the walk in shower. The only negative was the movement and height oRead moref the beds as I mentioned before. Hide
