Providing the perfect base for a restful escape for couples and small families alike this semi-detached barn conversion nestled in an idyllic setting on the grounds of the owners’ family run farm on Dartmoor National Park.

The property is one of two, attached, pretty cottages, perfectly situated in a delightful countryside setting on the edge of Dartmoor National Park which is famed for its spectacular walks and scenery. With great transport links nearby you will also be less than half an hour away from the cathedral city of Exeter with a wide range of amenities, including restaurants, shops and bars, and also within easy drive of popular tourist destinations of the south coast and the unspoilt villages along the northern coastline. Other attractions within easy reach include Okehampton Castle, the Miniature Pony Centre, South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the historic naval city of Plymouth, numerous National Trust properties including nearby Castle Drogo.

After travelling along pretty Devon country lanes you will arrive at the cottage and immediately step into a spacious entrance hall with lots of storage for coats and walking boots as well as a microwave. From here ascend the stairs onto the first floor and due to the upside-down arrangement you will discover the beautifully light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Here two comfortable sofas (one being a double sofa bed that can be used to accommodate two additional guests) sit in front of a TV/DVD and provides a lovely place to relax after a day exploring the moor, and the intimate dining area is the perfect venue for a laid back evening meal. The kitchen area is also perfectly appointed with a great selection of appliances and boasts an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and also a washing machine; and alongside this you will find the first of the two shower rooms, brilliantly spacious and including a shower and WC.

Heading back down the stairs and onto the ground floor you will then discover the cosy yet generously proportioned double bedroom boasting further sofa seating and a TV. A further contemporary shower room with a large walk-in shower and WC completes the offering inside the property. Heading outside and located to the front of the property guests benefit from access to a gravelled patio area with designated garden furniture and seating, and here is the perfect place to dine alfresco during warm weather. Ample private off-road parking is available directly outside the property.

A warm comfortable retreat. Loved the open plan upstairs and the big hallway downstairs with a Victoria sponge waiting for us on the side. This is the second time weve stayed here. Ideally placed for where we spend most of our time on Dartmoor.
