This delightful, bright and traditional barn conversion is one of a pair of attractive holiday properties located in a secluded and peaceful unspoilt corner of Devon. Set on a 42-acre working farm with sheep, cattle and chickens, this property offers a perfect place to stay for a family or a couple looking to explore both Devon and Cornwall. Enjoying a scenic location close to the Tamar Valley (12 miles), the cottage is also within easy reach of the northern coast, with Boscastle only 24 miles away, and the famous moors of Bodmin and Dartmoor are just 14 and 10 miles respectively.

Approached via a farm lane, this picturesque cottage enjoys a wonderful setting for those looking for a tranquil escape. Retaining original rustic features including exposed beams, slate floors and a wood burner, this comfortable, light and welcoming property features a spacious and bright open-plan lounge/diner and two cosy bedrooms. There’s a lovely patio area in the garden where you can sit back and enjoy an evening meal alfresco and admire the beautiful views. There are also farm activities including bottle-feeding lambs (season dependent) and collecting eggs. The farm also has a field where dogs can roam freely off the lead.

Located close to the Devon/Cornwall border, you can enjoy the best of both of these fantastic counties. You can head to the Cornish coast, including the popular resorts of Bude (24 miles) and the ruins at Tintagel (25 miles) or you can explore Devon’s dramatic moorlands, and enjoy wonderful walks and bike rides. Among many other attractions are Morwellham Quay (10 miles), Jamaica Inn (18 miles), the market town of Tavistock (10 miles), and Roadford Lake, a 730-acre reservoir with a great choice of water sports and walks, just 9 miles from the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Sue is a lovely host and very approachable if you need anything. The location is very isolated and quiet, pure heaven. Beautiful views, definitely going back next year
