If it’s not warm enough outside, snuggle up in front of the wood burner in the open-plan living space.

Head up the small steps to the converted barn and you’ll find huge exposed stone and beams that remind you of the property’s history. The interiors embrace the farmhouse style that’s well-preserved in Devon, including lots of beautiful pine and neutral colours. Cook up a storm in the spacious kitchen that has everything you need, then enjoy it at the table for five, discussing your plans for the rest of your holiday. Unwind in the evening sun on the bench at the front of the house, looking out over the lawn that is perfect for children to play games on.

Take the short 5-mile drive to the town of Crediton where you’ll find plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops to keep you busy for the afternoon or go for a round of golf at the Downes Crediton Golf Club (7 miles). Walkers will delight in the rugged landscapes of Dartmoor (30 miles) and Exmoor National Parks (21 miles), or you can take a more leisurely stroll around the winding paths by the river at Fingle Bridge (16 miles).

If youre seeking a cottage away from civilisation, then this is ideal. Well equipped, comfortable, hot-tub, log burner, starry skies, birdsong, muddy walks and NO mobile reception = perfect holiday. The whole family loved it. Laura was a perfect host.

Cannot fault the cottage at all, very well equipped, very homely and comfortable. The hot tub is perfect and the thoughtful extra touches like scones, clotted cream and jam on arrival are just lovely! Loved it so much we've already booked to go back again next year. It is in a rural location but this makes it peaceful and only a 12 minute drive to Read moreCrediton which has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Lovely cottage, hosts and area. The hot tub was a real treat and the cottage itself was home from home. The cottage was beautiful, really cosy and welcoming. The hosts were so friendly and accomodating, from leaving a cream tea out on our arrival to showing us and our children (6 and 9) around their livestock farm and even giving them both a ride on their tractor. Fabulous, comfortable cottage in a lovely location. The hot tub was lovely and there was everythung there that you could possibly need. Cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch too. Perfect base to exploring all parts of Devon. Shame it was too warm for the log burner but I imagine it's so cosy in cooler months.
