An idyllic farmyard cottage that has been thoughtfully renovated to retain much of its original character, providing well-equipped accommodation on a beautiful working farm in the Devon countryside.
Ideally positioned on the Devon/Cornwall for exploration of both beautiful counties, this idyllic farmyard cottage retains much of its original character and countryside charm. The seaside town of Bude is only 8 miles away, with its glorious beaches and bustling town centre. As the cottage is attached to the main working farmhouse, you can visit the working farm to see the horses, cows, chicken and sheep by arrangement with the owner; visit the milking parlour and perhaps to see baby lambs during the spring.
Enjoy home-cooked meals in the well-equipped and cheerful kitchen/diner, or you might prefer to dine alfresco in the shared garden while the children let off steam in the shared outdoor play area complete with trampoline, swings and slide. There’s also a BBQ that you can request use of from the owner, great for warm summer evenings. At the end of a busy day you can unwind in the restful lounge, stick on a DVD and pass the popcorn around, with the promise of a good night's sleep in the comfortable bedrooms upstairs: a cosy bunk room and a stylish double room.
Keen fishermen will be pleased to hear that the property has fishing rights for the River Tamar, which runs adjacent to the farm although you will need to obtain weekly permits for this. Walkers and cyclists will be delighted at the various routes nearby with plenty of beautiful countryside to explore, including the South West Coast Path (6 miles). You’ll be within easy reach of the many popular Cornish beaches, including the popular surf spot, Widemouth Bay (9 miles), with its Atlantic surf and long sandy beach.
