Mortehoe dog-friendly cottages
Situated high up on a cliff overlooking the Bristol Channel, we offer a great choice of dog-friendly holiday cottages in Mortehoe perfect for couples or friends looking for a more peaceful holiday location. Just a mile from the popular resort of Woolacombe, Mortehoe has plenty of choices of self-catering accommodation for families and groups looking to explore the stunning North Devon coastline with their four-legged friends in tow. Formerly a base for smugglers and wreckers, Mortehoe has a history dating back to the Domesday Book and features a Norman church, traditional pub and a fascinating Heritage Centre. Nearby are the Bull Point Lighthouse and Morte Point which offers spectacular sea views and headland rock formations. Local dog-friendly beaches include Grunta Beach and Rockham Bay.
Set in a particularly scenic part of the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Mortehoe is close to the South West Coast Path, allowing dogs and their owners to enjoy long coastal and rural walks to take in the stunning surroundings. Nearby Woolacombe is popular for its surfing and has a range of great places to eat and drink. Dogs are welcome (with some seasonal restrictions) on the beaches at Woolacombe, Putsborough Sands and Barricane Bay. Following the coast to the east, you will encounter the bustling, pet-friendly town of Ilfracombe, with Exmoor National Park just a few miles further on. Your canine companions can join you at local attractions including Broomhill Sculpture Gardens, the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway and the Milky Way Adventure Park. We have a great range of other cottages in Devon to choose from too.
