Anchor House is an impressive double fronted former fisherman’s cottage, which has been lovingly furnished and decorated retaining much of its traditional charm. Set in a cobbled courtyard, the house is centrally located and just a short walk from the heart of the village. Appledore is a great spot for an escape away from the rat race, where guests can wander the narrow streets and enjoy the small galleries, cafes, boutique shops and selection of pubs. If you feel the need to leave the village, the whole of the North Devon coast is easily accessible by car and the sandy beaches of Westward Ho! and Instow are just a few miles away. RHS Rosemoor Gardens and the heritage village of Clovelly are also a must to explore.
This cosy cottage offers one double and one twin bedroom, which are both accessed by steep cottage style stairs. The family bathroom has a shower over bath, WC and heated towel rail. There is a further small shower/wet room and WC on the ground floor of the cottage. The lounge has a Victorian fireplace, woodburner, TV/ DVD and a wide selection of books and films perfect for a cosy night in after a day of exploring. If you would prefer to stay in and cook than go out, the well-equipped kitchen has a gas hob, electric double oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and a washer/dryer. A few steps from the kitchen lead up to a small adjoining conservatory with a stable door at one end.
Although there is no enclosed outside space there is an attractive shared courtyard area to the front of the cottage which can be enjoyed.
