This property enjoys a quiet farmland location, surrounded by green fields with resident sheep. The ancient market town of North Tawton is just a short walk from the property and offers a small range of shops as well as choice of takeaway restaurants and welcoming pubs. The property’s mid-Devon location means that many of the region’s best-loved attractions are within easy reach, including: Dartmoor National Park, which is just 6 miles away; the cathedral city of Exeter, a thirty-minute drive away; and the National Trust property of Castle Drogo, ten miles to the south. The location also means that guests have a wide range of beaches within a fifty-minute drive, including Bude in Cornwall, Westward Ho! in North Devon, and Torquay on the English Riviera. The children will love day's out at Lydford Gorge, Castel Drogo with activities for 5 - 11 year olds, Pennywell Farm, Finch Foundry, Dingles vintage fairground and Morpugo the 'War Horse' exhibition near Barnstable.

This delightful thatched barn conversion cottage offers comfortable accommodation for four guests in lovely rural surroundings. This spacious lounge/kitchen/diner is a sunny light-filled room, thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling patio windows which run along one side of the room. The comfortable sofas and the dining table are both positioned to make the most of the attractive views across neighbouring fields, whilst a TV/DVD, and hi-fi provide relaxing entertainment in the evenings. The fully equipped kitchen area, off-set to one end of the room, offers breakfast-bar style seating, as well as an oven, hob, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, Wi-Fi included approx. 45mbs. There are two bedrooms, both of which have some reduced head-height, due to their location in the eaves of the property. The first of these is a relaxing double room, whilst the second is a restful twin room. The ground-floor bathroom has a shower-over-bath and WC.

Outside, several external steps lead down from the patio doors, to the enclosed terrace, where there is garden furniture from which guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the views across the neighbouring fields. There is a secure paddock which guests are able to use when exercising their dogs, whenever they are free of livestock.

A cosy, comfortable cottage in a peaceful location, just what you need for a relaxing holiday. The hosts are most helpful and courteous and provide an excellent welcome for you. The only suggestion would be to add to the cottages description that parking is limited and not for 2 cars, especially if they are large as ours was. Would re visit.

Lovely barn conversion. Very comfy and cosy. As previous reviews state really well equipped plenty of plates cups etc. Bedding was fresh and clean as were the towels. Clean and cosy dog friendly cottage with well equipped kitchen, heating and hot water. Beds and sofa were comfy but TV at a slant. Cream Tea on arrival what more could you ask for! The barn was spotless and bed and sofas very comfortable (so many rentals have tatty, lumpy old sofas), lovely fluffy towels and kitchen stocked with all the usual gadgets. Views over the fields and masses of stars at night. A lovely peaceful location and only a 5 minute walk to the well stocked SpaRead morer shop. (There arent any pavements immediately outside the barn but it is not a particularly busy road ). Hide

We had a wonderful week staying at the Taddie Barn which was very comfortable and well equipped. We had plenty of space for two adults and two older teenagers, plus the ability to cook for and entertain friends and relatives when they visited. The location is great; perfect for a quiet relaxing break, and only half an hour from Exeter. Perfect!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. Everything you could possibly need is supplied. We were welcomed by a delicious cream tea on arrival.
