This property is located within a small complex of properties, in a quiet corner of the beautiful Hartland Peninsula in North Devon, and enjoys nearby walks on the South West Coast Path, as it makes its way along the clifftops of this stretch of coastline, which is maintained by the National Trust. Just a few miles around the coast, the breath-taking Hartland Quay has an imposing lighthouse, a pebbled beach, and dramatic crashing waves which have claimed many a ship, some of which are remembered in the interesting shipwreck museum which overlooks the beach. The small village of Hartland is situated three miles inland and offers an small selection of shops, three pubs, a coffee shop, bakery and a collection of interesting galleries and craft workshops. There is something for every age range: surfing and sandcastle building at the popular beach resort of Westward Ho! (16 miles) or the opportunity to hire a rowing boat on the Bude canal (13 miles). Attractions for children nearby include the Milky Way Adventure Park and North Devon Wake/Aqua Park (7 miles) and The Big Sheep Adventure Park (14 miles) or if you wish to travel further a field the popular Cornish villages of Port Isaac (43 miles) Boscastle (32.5 miles) and Tintagel (36.5 miles) are a drive away.

This former-grain store has been lovingly converted to create a stunning holiday home. On entering the property, guests can’t help but be impressed by the sense of space and double-height ceiling with exposed beams. This is an open-plan space, comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner, allowing guests to easily enjoy spending time together. The lounge area has comfortable sofas, warming wood burner, and Smart TV and DVD player. The kitchen area, meanwhile, is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The double and single bedroom are also located on the ground floor, the double offers an en-suite shower with WC, with separate bathroom with a shower-over-bath and WC. Wooden stairs lead from the living area to a galleried landing which has been styled as an additional seating area, perfect for enjoying some quiet time with a good book. This also, holds the twin bedroom with separate WC and basin.

Outside, the property benefits from a generously-sized enclosed garden, which enjoys attractive views across the surrounding fields.

The barn is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Its was welcoming to have the kitchen essentials provided and we loved the dogs den which our dog loved! We wanted to try the log burner but the shed for which stored the logs was locked but it didnt spoil our stay. Our children came to spend the long bank holiday with us so as a family of 5Read more and a dog we had plenty of space. Comfortable relaxing. Very well appointed holiday let. Very clean and well maintained. Spacious garden and a shaded area for the dog. In the middle of nowhere which was just perfect for us.

We loved staying here - the property was light and spacious with everything we needed for the week. The area was beautiful with plenty of activities and lots of these highlighted by brochures and books within the house. It was a great place and definitely one to consider going to again. We loved this cottage, and its rural environment, a real treat in the beautiful Hartland area of Devon. Beautifully clean and well equipped, lovely furnishings and a great open feel with the steps to the upper level with its sitting area.

Highfield Barn is set in a beautiful peaceful location, ideally situated for walking the coastal path and exploring N Devon. It is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The sitting room/kitchen floor was tiled which was perfect for our two Dalmatians. Nice and cool for them to lie on after a hot walk, plus no risk of it being scratched by them. We had a really comfortable family holiday in this property. It is nicely finished and we loved being within short walking distance of the coastal path where we watched the sun set most evenings. This property is surrounded by farmland and last 5 mins of journey are basic roads. Being situated very close to the North Devon coastal footpath, made it easy to walk out and see the wonderful coastline scenery. A quiet location, with services a short drive away, made it a relaxing place to stay. Ideal for adults who like to walk or visit some wonderful places of interest around the Hartland Peninsula. Rocky coves and not many saRead morendy beaches make it less tempting for children who would prefer the sandy beaches near Bude. Hide
