We had a lovely stay at Fisherman's View. The cottage is charming and has all the mod cons you'll need, and the log burner kept us toasty warm in the evenings. There's two pubs and a chippy on the doorstep, and all other amenities in the village are barely more than a few minutes' walk away. Fantastic ice cream from the Hocking's van too. The car pRead moreark across the road was a wholly reasonable 30 for the week. Appledore itself is ideally located for visiting the lovely North Devon beaches too. Hide

The location of the cottage is amazing and so is the cottage and it's decor. We'll be using some of the interior design ideas. Juts a comment but due to it's obvious age, which is why it's amazing it has very steep stairs, so its for the more able bodied.

Pretty little cottage in a wonderful location, one of the best in Appledore. Perfectly well equipped and comfortable; not luxurious but nice. Probably the most comfortable bed weve slept in in rented accommodation. The stairs are very steep and uneven but that is the only drawback, compensated for by the views from the upper windows.

An excellent cottage as a base for North Devon. We enjoyed Appledore very much indeed. The stairs are a bit steep as noted by others, but very manageable if you are sound on your feet. Take the short boat trip across to Instow and have brunch at Johns, or dinner in the Boathouse - food great at both. Johns in Appledore is a great deli. The cottage is very close to the quay and bedrooms have a great view of the sea. Also close to local pubs so can be very noisy at closing time. Theres no parking but we did manage to park on the road very close to the cottage most days. The car park across the road is free from 6pm to 8am so if youre stuck it doesnt cost to park overnight. The staiRead morers in the cottage are steep and not suitable for those with restricted mobility. There is a very small yard, not very inviting to sit in. Hide
