Ideally located close to some of North Devon’s finest beaches, you can explore Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands and Croyde which are all within 20 miles, and are popular with surfers and bathers alike. The regional towns of Barnstaple (8 miles) and South Molton (10 miles) are nearby with popular markets. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the Tarka Trail (10 miles) and walk through the surrounding landscape, stunning in any season. 2.5 miles away will take you to the village of High Bickington where you will also find the community shop here which sells a range of produce. The nearby historic village of Torrington is 7 miles and is home to RHS Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal.

Entering the stylish property, you are immediately greeted by a well-equipped kitchen with underfloor heating, electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. A handy ground floor WC is on your right, then ahead is the open-plan lounge/diner which is contemporarily styled with cosy sofas, an electric wood effect heater and a Smart TV, ideal for settling in for a snug evening with a feast, a bottle of wine and a film. French doors open onto an enclosed courtyard where there is your own private hot tub and garden furniture a great place to sit and enjoy the countryside views. Heading on up the stairs is the sleeping accommodation with two bedrooms. The first is a master double with en-suite shower room and WC, the second is a zip-and-link king (which can be made into two 2'6'' single beds). There is a second shower room with WC making it ideal for couples or friends looking to holiday together.

Outside, off the kitchen door there is a private courtyard providing ideal access for dogs after a country walk. Off the lounge is a separate area with far-reaching countryside views, great for both you and your four-legged friends to relax in. You'll also find here a table and chairs, as well as a hot tub, which is particularly inviting at night when you can enjoy the warm bubbling water under the star-filled skies. Off-road parking for two cars can be found next to the property.

A lovely cottage for our restful stay. Enjoyed the hot tub despite the weather! Towelling robes provided was a great bonus. Very well equipped and comfortable. A short drive to the coast to walk our dog. Highly recommend The Boat House at Instow. Definitely recommend staying at The Owl Cottage.

Lovely, clean and cosy cottage. Hot tub with lovely views of the countryside. Great beaches only 15-20 minute drive away. Good local pub down the road in Umberleigh which was friendly, and served tasty meals. Would certainly recommend.

We had a lovely holiday.Very nice owners they were there if needed but left us alone.Great powerful showers,lovely beds and immaculately clean.Great views and the hot tub was a added bonus.We would recommend to anyone.A wonderful place to stay

This is a lovely location - a converted barn on a working farm. There are two power showers, the beds are comfortable, there is a washing machine with drier function (which is very helpful after a wet day at the beach). There are some amazing beaches nearby (Tunnel Beaches in Ilfracombe and Woolacombe beach). The hot tub is brilliant. We had a lovely stay in Little Owl Cottage. We stayed for the week and there was plenty of space for 4 adults and dog with a good sized garden terrace area with the bonus being the hot tub! We all slept so well as the beds were really comfy! The hosts asked us if we wanted single or double beds and this was great as we were fully accommodated for. Little Owl Cottage is a beautiful little gem of a cottage and a great base to explore both the North Devon countryside and the local beaches. This is a gem of a place. Spotless, very comfortable, well equipped. Helpful owners and a great location with lots of excellent pubs not too far away. Just book it.

A lovely little cottage in a very peaceful location. Had everything we needed for our stay and the hot tub was a real bonus at the end of the day with twinkly lights in the garden. Comfy beds and lovely showers. We had a wonderful time.

We stayed at little owl cottage in July for a week. It's a lovely new cottage, well equipped, quiet, peaceful and a great base for North devon coast. Approximately 15 mins from Barnstaple and on decent roads to get there, we found the location great. The cottage itself had everything you needed, our 2 girls loved the hot tub.
