Found in a fantastic position overlooking Brixham’s famous harbour, where fishing boats rub shoulders with the pleasure craft which take visitors on tours of the bay. Like much of South Devon, Torbay is known for its beaches, and thanks to the English Riviera’s microclimate, the sea is usually warmer than it is in other parts of Devon. Why not spend a day at quiet St Mary’s Bay, or secluded Fishcombe Cove, both of which lie within a thirty-minute walk or very short drive of the cottage. There are plenty of interesting shops and galleries in the town, as well as a good range of restaurants, many specialising in the local seafood which is brought in daily by the local fishermen.
Guests will find this cottage at the end of a quiet road, giving it a lovely secluded feel, away from the main buzz of the town and yet still within a short walk of all amenities. Entering the property, guests will find the perfect spot to leave coats and walking boots before hearing off to be drawn into the lounge where the huge picture window offers spectacular sea views, surely one of the best in Brixham. With the ever-changing harbour views, there would seem to be little need for a TV in this light-filled room, but just in case guests are able to tear themselves away from the window, there is a TV here, as well as a feature fireplace with a wood burner which gives the room a lovely cosy feel, even through the coldest months. The separate dining room gives dining for all six guests and leads through to the kitchen via a feature door and one step up. The kitchen itself is a smart, contemporary space and it is perfect for keen foodies and is provided with an excellent range of equipment, including a Range oven, hob, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, whilst the washing machine, tumble dryer, and a handy extra sink can be found in the utility end of this space. The master bedroom, a king-size, on the first-floor enjoys the same stunning views as the lounge, giving guests a terrific sight to wake up to. The second bedroom on this floor is a twin room. The shower room on this floor has a walk-in shower and WC. The third bedroom on the second floor which is a double room, again with beautiful sea views. Guests should be aware that due to the fact that this room is in the eaves of the house, there is some reduced head-height. An additional quiet reading room is opened for guests use on this floor with the benefit of a kitchenette area and shower room.
Outside, there is a pretty patio garden to the side of the property, with garden furniture which makes it a pleasant space to enjoy the sun and drink in the fabulous views over the inner harbour bowl.
