This property is perfect for those who want a relaxing holiday in a peaceful location, and yet would like to be close to some of the area’s best-loved beaches and attractions. Although it enjoys a quiet location set within rolling countryside, the popular seaside town of Sidmouth is just two miles away and offers two lovely sandy beaches and a range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Just a little way around the coast from Sidmouth, the towns of Torbay are all popular with visitors, each with its own unique character. From Torquay, a bustling town with chic bistros, to Paignton, a wonderful family-orientated resort town with a zoo and a steam railway which runs just above the seafront.

On entering this first floor apartment stairs bring guests directly to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This lovely sunny room offers stunning views over the neighbouring countryside, giving guests a real sense of peace and tranquillity. The lounge area has comfortable sofa seating, a TV with Freeview and DVD, as well as a window seat from which guests can enjoy those breathtaking views. At the other end of the room, a small dining table is set just next to the kitchen area, which is equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge and small freezer located just inside entrance. The property’s double bedroom is tastefully decorated with wooden furniture and there is an additional pull-out bed available should it be needed. The bathroom offers the best of both worlds whether guests want a long relaxing soak in the roll-top bath or a quick refreshing shower as there is a large walk-in shower, there is also a WC in this room.

Outside, guests are able to enjoy the owner’s enclosed meadow, a gorgeous natural area with mowed paths which lead down to a pond and seating area.

Stayed here last week visiting our son in Devon. Really lovley place, everything we needed and the view was spectacular. Definitely on our list again for next year.

Absolutely wonderful views. Lovely watching the birds and rabbits in the garden. The surrounding area is very pretty. There were a lot of nasty potholes in the roads. Visited the Donkey sanctuary, well worth a visit. Went to the RSPB reserve hoping to see a Dartford warbler, no luck, but still an interesting place.

My wife and I are both in our 80th year.Our son drove us down and stayed with us.The apartment is ideal,and the views are really exceptional.The lanes leading to the apartment are narrow,but well worth the stay.We love Sidmouth which is 10 minute drive away,and considering it was November the weather was lovely.Thank you Euna and John for a stay,reRead moregards Sylvia Geoff and Karl. Stunning location and breathtaking views from apartment. It's a 10 min drive to Sidmouth which we didn't mind. Wonderful woodland walks. Owners were very friendly and super knowledgeable regarding local habitat for plants/animals. Would highly recommend.

Hayes Annex has a fabulous view, when booking one needs to know where the place is located & also how easy it is to walk from the property for an evening meal. We are both in our late 70's & capable of walking. We very much like to leave the car behind (having been out driving during the day) & walk to have an evening meal. This was not an option, Read morethe narrow dark windy lanes are dangerous. On arrival there was no hot water and was told it could not be sorted until Tues, this was rectified. Hide

Gorgeous views - an idyllic spot. Very comfy bed and nice bathroom. A good location to tour the coast and only a short drive to Sidmouth. A lovely breeze through all the windows so still pleasant even in the heatwave. Quite basic and no dishwasher which I missed! There are stairs up to the apartment. First holiday home Ive ever rented with no teabaRead moregs/coffee/biscuits etc - literally the kitchen has two black bags, cling film & tinfoil - nothing else disposable - so be prepared! Hide

It was the views that got us here! And they did not dissapoint! Wow! Panoramic views of the countryside where breath taking. We witnessed a gorgeous sunset each night and the owners have clearly put there heart and soul into the garden. The annexe had all we needed and the little added touches were great. The flat was very comfortable, and a good base to explore the local area. There are good walks from the property itself; we particularly recommend the walk along the River Otter to Ottery St Mary, which was most attractive. We didn't explore very far away, but there was a lot to do locally. The flour from Otterton Mill makes excellent bread!
