Set within the beautiful South Hams, this wonderful cottage is the perfect retreat for couples or a small family who are looking to enjoy a cosy and restful holiday in a traditional thatched cottage with easy access to all of Devon delights.

Nestling within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to days out. The National Trust owned Arymer Cove is a short walk away and provides a convenient gateway to the south west coastal path. The nearby villages of Bigbury, Bantham and Salcombe offer a readily available selection of watersports including surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking. A highlight this cottage offers is the starry night skies, there is very little light pollution so star gazing on your holiday is an absolute must. There are lots of nearby beaches and coves to explore including Wonwell, Mothercoombe and Bigbury. The climate means many interesting flora and fauna can proliferate in the area and examples can be enjoyed at the nearby Overbecks and Lukesland gardens. Dartmoor is a hiking mecca easily accessed from the jolly market towns of Ivybridge and Ashburton or Yelverton. There are a number of local golf courses with enviable sea views which include the very close by, Bigbury and the slightly further course at Thurlstone.

On entering this beautiful thatched cottage, you will find yourself in the delightful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with an abundance of original features. The grade II listed fireplace with a wood burning stove takes centre stage. The stove and electric night storage heaters ensure the cottage is a cosy retreat to nestle up in after a long day out and about exploring all the great outdoors has to offer. The kitchen resembles a ship galley - it is a small but a well-equipped space with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and washer dryer. You to cook fantastic meals from fresh local ingredients brought at one of the many farm shops or in the nearby market towns of Modbury, Kingsbridge or Salcombe. Heading upstairs the cottage has a double bedroom and two single rooms. The double bedroom is light and charming with a large chest of drawers, a comfy armchair and an old eye-catching grade II listed fireplace. The single rooms are cosy and comfortable, completing this floor is the shower room with shower and WC.

The cottage benefits from an enclosed garden on the other side of the driveway to the property. It has a large patio seating area for up to 6 people, a grassy lawn and a variety of colourful plants. It is well fenced and dog friendly. This property offers off-road parking for one car

Lovely cosy cottage always warm and always hot water had a lovely stay maybe a stair gate could be provided as understandably dogs are not allowed upstairs but overall we felt really comfortable

We had a wonderful holiday, the cottage had everything we needed and was very well presented and cosy. We stayed as a family of four with two young girls and found the cottage in the ideal place for a nice walk to the local beach at Ayrmer cove. We felt very welcome in Ringmore and enjoyed the bank holiday fete and cream teas at the WI hall. We cooRead moreked some great meals in the well equipped kitchen using local ingredients from Kingsbridge and also had a couple of nice meals out. A great find. Hide

Cottage very conformable and clean. It had all necessary amenities if required. We chose to travel to different places to eat as we were on holiday and I do not cook on holiday. Very nice place to stay.

Lovely cottage with little garden .location good for beeches.either walking or by car. All the amenities one needs. Lovely pub near by called journeys end worth a visit or two.

A charming property with a lovely enclosed garden we spent a wonderful week here 01/09/23 great walks on the doorstep and the village pub Journeys End was a great place to eat with a large range of real ales on tap. Early booking recommended. We would return with no hesitation.

Ringmore is a lovely quaint village with a 13th century pub and beautiful walks in and around the village. Rock cottage is a quirky cottage with lots of character and lovely walks from the door onto the south west coastal path. The garden is separate to the cottage along the path. This was the third time we stayed at the cottage and we enjoyed much needed relaxation each time. Excellent facilities and good location for walking or driving to nearby towns and beaches. Hope to come back next year.

A beautiful cottage in a great location for walking. The beds were very comfortable, as was the sofa. There was plenty of hot water and the shower worked well. The kitchen is on the small side, but well laid out and well equipped. The weather was hot during our stay but the cottage remained beautifully cool, which was helpful for the dog. loved the property, clean, comfortable. The welcome goodies were really nice. The village is lovely and the pub is so welcoming with a good menu. Access to the beaches and coastal path are great, most definitely be put on the list of places to return to.
