Take a short stroll down the hill into Appledore, which offers all the old world charm of a fishing village alongside great bars and eateries, and also access to the South West Coastal Path. Fishing trips can be had from the quay or in the summer take the ferry across the estuary to Instow. You will also be a short drive from the beautiful sandy beach at Westward Ho!, enabling you to enjoy the best of this ever popular area. Further sea and sand can be found at Instow and the surfing beaches of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe. Other attractions accessible from here include access to the Tarka Trail and day trips to Lundy Island from Bideford, RHS Rosemoor, Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, The Big Sheep and Milky Way Adventure Parks, Atlantic Village and Clovelly.

Step inside this stunning reverse level property, just off a large hall you will find the first two bedrooms. These comprise of a spacious king-size room and a twin room, servicing these is a lovely contemporary shower room with shower and WC. Completing the offering on the ground floor is an undeniably useful utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Venturing up the stairs and onto the first floor the accommodation then opens up into the fabulously light and airy living space. The lounge/dining area boasts lovely estuary views and French doors opening to a balcony with chairs which mean that you can take in the fresh air on warm days. There is also a Smart TV enabling you to curl up and catch up on your favourite programmes after a day exploring. From here step into the kitchen and this offers further seating space and sea views with French doors to a glass fronted balcony with views across the estuary. The kitchen area itself is perfectly appointed with a double electric oven, gas hob, microwave, large American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a door to the rear patio meaning that you can dine alfresco with ease. Another set of stairs then leads to the second and final floor and this boasts a lovely loft style with vaulted ceiling and superb views. Here you will find the master super-king-size bedroom offering a Smart TV, en-suite shower room with shower and WC, stunning views across the estuary and beyond and French doors opening to a further Juliet balcony. Last but not least, a further beautifully presented king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with shower attachment on bath and WC, again with stunning estuary views.

Venturing outside and to the rear of the property is a delightful enclosed garden with a gently sloping lawn, decked patio area and garden furniture. Here you can relax in the sun without even having to venture down to the beach and also enjoy dining outside.

Good value if 8 adults are sharing cost, but a little expensive if 1 family member pays.

Waterhays was a beautiful holiday home for two families to meet up and to spend quality time together. Ideally situated for the quay, the little ferry over to Instow and beyond, plus the typical quaint character and amenities that Appledore provides. Lovely house, well laid out and loved the views across the estuary. Appledore is a quaint place and we liked the fact it wasnt overly busy. Downside was garden is not secure for small dogs.
