A deceptive, and stylish riverside property overlooking the River Torridge. Well-furnished and equipped with a combination of contemporary and traditional styles and walking distance of the quayside, with its pubs, restaurants and shops.

This superbly renovated property sits riverside on the banks of the River Torridge in the North Devon town of Bideford. The river is spanned by an impressive stone bridge dating back to the 13th Century and is the focal point of the town. – Wander along the bustling quayside, watch the fishing boats and daily life go by or settle into one of the quayside coffee shops. Set on a quiet residential road with a nearby pub, restaurant, cycle hire and repair garage, you also overlook the fabulous  Tarka Trail which is a traffic free path stretching for 30 miles, perfect for picturesque walks and bike rides. Alternatively, you can enjoy the excellent surf beach at Westward Ho! which is a short drive away. Within walking distance of the cottage are two excellent pubs offering good food and the area's most popular hotel with an excellent restaurant open to non-residents.

On entering the property, you are met by a lounge area with feature fireplace with gas fire, Smart TV and comfy seating, an ideal place to relax after a busy day. Leading on is the large kitchen/diner, the real hub of the property it is dominated by the riverside views which can be seen through the large bi folding doors that invite you out onto the large patio. The kitchen area is well fitted and equipped in an a stylish industrial style and offers everything you need to cook up a feast including a large electric range oven with gas hob, microwave, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine (no pds required) washing machine and tumble drier, a good size oak dining table and chairs ensures mealtimes are a breeze. Heading back through the lounge you will find a ground floor bathroom with bath and WC. Heading upstairs there are three bedrooms 1 twin zip-and-link (which can be made into a super-king-size on request at the time of booking), 1 double and the master bedroom which has a king-size bed with an en-suite shower room with WC and large bi folding doors leading out onto a balcony with seating and superb river views across to the Little White Town of Bideford, a beautiful view to wake up to each morning. A further separate shower room with WC completes the accommodation.

Stepping outside from the kitchen/diner you have a large enclosed patio area which has various zones to enjoy, garden furniture, a summer house, outdoor lighting, and charcoal BBQ you can even fish over the river wall, it is the perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon or an early evening drink. Allocated and secure off-road parking is available for up to two cars and others can park nearby on the roadside.

Had a lovely week recently at number 10. Very comfortable , relaxing , enjoyable holiday was had by all. 4 adults and 4 small dogs . The view was lovely and picturesque. We would like to return hopefully next year.

Perfect location. A short walk over the bridge offers plenty of eateries, for those feeling more adventurous the Tarka trail is great walk to Instow. Its ideal for visiting surrounding areas such as Westward Ho, Bude and Ilfracombe all under 40 minutes drive. The view over the estuary is amazing; and the garden was safe for our dogs. A very beautifully clean and tidy house and very dog friendly, we were worried a little about the dogs being able to jump in the water but there was clear glass on the wall and the dogs just loved to stand and sniff all the smells that were in the air. Great accommodation with great outdoor space and kitchen with all u need. Easy to walk to bideford or sit in garden and watch the river. Just check tide times.if you want to fish! The house was lovely the accommodation great for what we required. ( My elderly mother did find the stairs rather steep but she is 92). Lovely homely feel to the place and the views over the river amazing. Ideal location for exploring that area of North Devon

Had a great stay at No 10! Home from home! Lots of extras and personal touches. The location is great on The Tarka trail. We had a good walk into Instow, then returned the next day on the bus for a nice meal at The Boathouse, would definitely recommend. A ' different ' cottage with a lot of thought for the benefit of guests. Unbelievable riverside views, not made enough of in the introduction ! A genuine welcome for dogs, private parking , a quiet road. Very comfortable beds, sofas and much garden furniture (and a lovely Mimosa tree !) Well situated for other nearby resorts

Chill out at number 10 is a great property and contains everything you could need for a holiday. It is a short walk into Bideford and a short drive to some great beaches at Instowe and Westward Ho!. Thoroughly recommend this cottage. Great location on the river, fishing was enjoyed by the boys (unsuccessfully) The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, even down to dog bowls, towels and poo bags. We had a very enjoyable & comfortable stay at Chillout.

Perfect location, lovely house - we had a very relaxed stay at Chillout. So convenient for everything but still out of the way. We meant to explore lots more than we did because we ended up sat in the garden watching the river most days! We will be back.

What a beautiful place to stay . We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at "Chill out at No. 10' . The property has been well thought out , very clean and its furnished to a high standard. The view was amazing. It was so lovely to sit outside on an evening watching the wading birds and paddleboarders . Absolutely loved our holiday here! The location is amazing with everything easy walking distance; we bearly used the car all week. Would recommend requesting all beds are made as master bedroom with balcony is beautiful but extremely warm and bright, impracticable curtains made sleeping very difficult in the warmer weather. One of the nicest houses we have ever stayed in, the beds were super comfy in every room, just about everything you would need is supplied. We spent a week at the house and it was fantastic. The owners communicated with us in advance of our stay and have thought of everything to make the house very comfortable. The view from the main bedroom was amazing but you may have to draw straws if you're travelling with other adults!
