Situated within a tranquil farm courtyard setting, these properties provide the perfect base to explore all that North Devon has to offer. Renowned beaches such as Saunton and Croyde are within easy reach and close by you’ll find the town of Barnstaple and South Molton with their popular pannier markets. A short train ride from the conveniently close by station takes you to the Tarka Trail, favoured by walkers and cyclists alike. Slightly further afield days out include the beautiful cathedral city of Exeter and pretty Torbay. You can also walk out directly from the farm along the banks of the River Taw or explore the picturesque local woods.

This converted barn accommodation is arranged on one floor, with original features such as oak beams, floors and windows throughout. There is plenty of seating in the open-plan lounge area, with sofas to relax around the Smart TV. There is seating for six around the dining table with views to the courtyard, and a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. There are three spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom is a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twins upon request) with en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The second bedroom is a king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twins upon request) and finally a twin zip-and-link (which can be made into a king-size upon request). Finishing the accommodation is the bathroom, shower over bath and WC.

Directly outside the property, enjoy relaxing on the enclosed private patio area where there is garden furniture to sit and enjoy the fresh air. There is a secure dog walking area for your four-legged friends. Young and old alike will enjoy the use of table tennis, football and air hockey in the pétanque area .

Spotlessly clean and roomy. Underfloor heating an asset on cooler wet days. Friendly owners on sight so any queries solved quickly. Dogs very welcome.

What a FAB space, slightly off the beaten track but a beautiful barn conversion with all the creature comforts you need, a home from home. Excellent 5 star accommodation in my opinion. FAB! Thoroughly recommend! We have two teenagers who were able to have their own rooms at The Root House, important for adult sanity among other considerations and tRead morewo pampered pooches who also had a great time. Really couldnt fault a thing (apart from the weather!) Great as a base to dodge the rain too! Hide

We loved our stay at the Root House, 4 adults, 2 older kids and 2 dogs all very comfortable. A great base for exploring North Devon with all the amenities you might need. Well be back!

Lovely barn conversion in a very peaceful setting . Beds comfortable and nice linen . Very relaxing week . We had an issue with the showers not always being hot which was a shame . Hannah who was house sitting while the owners were away was very pleasant and helpful but couldnt resolve the cold shower issue .

Root House was perfect for our 2 week holiday in Devon. Spacious bedrooms, with plenty of seating in the lounge area. Really liked the open plan layout and high ceilings, and the fenced off area at the front was very handy for the dog.

We have just returned form a really nice 4 night stay at Root House. Hannah is a great host, always within reach if we had any problems and happy to speak to us. The house was able to cope with 6 people very easily and is well equipped. We would consider staying there again when next holidaying in North Devon.

Great property, and would stay again. Great communication from owners and we enjoyed the suggested dog walks. Open plan lounge/kitchen/dinner was great to socialise in. Kitchen had plenty of plates, pots, cups and cutlery - Thank you
