This stunning property enjoys a superb and peaceful location, off the beaten track, yet just 3 miles from shops and pubs and 6 miles from sandy beaches. The region is rich with sights and attractions to suit all tastes, including the market town of Bideford (3 miles), the Affinity outlet mall (4.5 miles) and the beautiful gardens of RHS Rosemoor (5 miles). Family attractions such as The Milky Way (11 miles) and The Big Sheep (5 miles) offer fun-filled days out. Beach lovers are well catered for; both Westward Ho! and Instow are within 6.5 miles with golden sandy beaches, local shops and fine eateries. Slightly further afield, you’ll find the historic towns of Clovelly and Hartland with their breathtaking cliff-top walks on either side (both within 16 miles).

Making your way up the steps and into the home, you will initially find yourself in the entrance hall giving glimpses of the stylish interior; to your left is a lounge with a warming wood burner, comfortable seating and large Smart TV. Just off the lounge is a spacious double bedroom with an en-suite shower and WC. This room offers direct access out onto the terrace and is ideal for early risers. Heading back through the lounge and along the hallway, you will find a further two bedrooms: a double room and a single room with a pull-out single bed, accommodating two guests. The family bathroom completes the ground floor. Climbing the staircase leads you to the impressive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with another large Smart TV. The kitchen provides all the appliances needed for a stress-free stay, whilst the dining table and breakfast bar can comfortably seat all guests. A ladder-style staircase from the dining area leads to a mezzanine snug area, kitted out with cushy bean bags; it's ideal for board games or a superb retreat to relax with a good book. The master bedroom is at the far end and has a double bed, an en-suite shower room and excellent views over the river and valley beyond.

Step outside and enjoy the river views from the patio at the front of the home or wander up to the hilly rear woodland where you will be rewarded with superb views across the valley, as well as direct access onto the Tarka Trail. The patio provides a wood-fired hot tub which can also run off electricity to maintain the heat. This is an area where you can comfortably dine or just lounge, enjoy an al fresco BBQ in the warmer weather or partake in garden games on the lawn. The raised platform (jetty) allows you to launch paddleboards. Alternatively, just chill and enjoy those melting sunsets with friends and family.

An absolutely spectacular cottage which had everything we needed. The main dining space and kitchen was fantastic and spacious, but it was lovely to have lots of other rooms and space for anyone who wanted a bit of peace and quiet. The riverside location and views were beautiful. The hot tub was amazing, especially by the light of a full moon with Read morethe sound of the river flowing by. Great communication from Catherine. I thoroughly recommend Ridd Cottage and will definitely be back. Thank you! Hide
