Nestled on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park, this pod is conveniently located just 2 miles away from market town of Okehampton. Okehampton offers a variety of amenities, including shops, takeaways, and supermarkets, as well as specialized stores that cater to the needs of walkers, cyclists, and climbers. Dartmoor National Park provides an extensive network of scenic trails suitable for individuals of all skill levels, offering a range of options from leisurely strolls to challenging hikes and climbs. The pod's proximity to the A30 makes it effortless to reach the stunning cathedral city of Exeter, just 20 miles away. Exeter boasts a diverse range of restaurants and a multitude of shopping opportunities. Furthermore, there are several attractions within a 20-mile radius, including Lydford Gorge, Roadford Lake, Meldon Reservoir and Viaduct, Okehampton Castle, the Miniature Pony Centre, and Crealy Adventure Park.

Step inside this stunning countryside pod and into the perfectly designed and comfortable studio-style lounge/kitchen/dining/sleeping area, which has been uniquely designed for these pods alone. The lounge area has a sofa and Smart TV to enjoy your favourite films, whilst guests can gaze across the lake to the front of the pod. This brilliantly designed space includes ample room to lounge and dine, the perfect spot to relax in style after a day exploring. Also included here is the perfectly appointed kitchen which boasts all the essentials for a relaxing, stress-free holiday. Here you can prepare fresh ingredients sourced from one of the many local farmers’ markets. In the sleeping area you will find a lovely king-size bed. Completing the pod is a perfectly appointed shower room with shower and WC.

Directly outside the living area you will find your own private hot tub on the built-in terrace, along with a super comfortable hanging lounge chair and outdoor dining set, perfect for some alfresco dining whilst gazing across the lake. If you don't fancy cooking there is also a pub/restaurant to enjoy on-site.

The place is lovely, set in a lovely area. The pod was clean, cosy and bright. Was a short drive to the town and was great to walk straight into the Moors. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. I would recommend staying here.

An absolutely amazing place, the cabin is cute and comfortable. It is in a very quiet area and has some lovely surrounding walks. There isnt too much around so if youre looking for a relaxing few days away from the world it is perfection. I wouldnt recommend the on site pub for more than a drink or two but the bakery in town is beautiful. Would defRead moreinitely visit again! Hide

Staying in a pod was an unexpected plesent experience, very warm and cosy, the owners are very friendly and welcoming, will stay in a pod at this location again.

Weve just returned from the most amazing stay. The pictures really dont do the pod justice, so spacious, private, comfortable, clean and the views from the pod are gorgeous! You can see yes tor in the distance from the hot tub. The location is amazing if youre a walker, a few minutes in the car and youre at meldon reservoir and there are tors to waRead morelk all around (minutes in the car). Honestly the most beautiful place, the most welcoming people in the pub next door and I honestly didnt want to leave! Had a very comfortable stay. Other cabins closer than i expected, yet, it felt very private. Very clever layout of the whole lodge. Excellent modern mod coms, however, being older, i couldnt really fathom the hob or diswasher. Also, no idea what the black box under telly was for. But thats just me and my age. We were disappointed with our stay at Elder Lodge. The photos and description are misleading. The lodge is lovely and clean, but the location is right by a noisy motorway, on a smelly farm and is surrounded by lots of other lodges, so it doesn't feel private or peaceful. It was advertised as dog friendly, but it is very inconvenient for anyone stayRead moreing with dogs, as they have a strict dogs on lead policy. Wonderful holiday, perfectly placed , beautiful pod. Idilict views across duck pond. Pod has everything you need, on a compact level, but high quality to the last detail. Definitely recommended. We really enjoyed our first visit to the area and recommend the walks in local woods and river and upwards towards the viaduct, As members of National trust we found this an ideal location to visit Lydford Gorge a beautiful riverside trek.
