Tasteful and stylish, this beautiful dog-friendly property has everything. The cottage has its own enclosed rear courtyard with access directly out onto a large field, ideal for exercising your four-legged friends, and with superb countryside views over Codden Hill, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking and cycling. Set on the outskirts of Barnstaple (5 miles), you’ll find plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants within easy reach. The coastal town of Instow is 8 miles away and offers a dog-friendly estuary beach and, in the summer, you can catch a passenger ferry across to Appledore. A day at RHS Rosemoor with 65 acres of woodland and gardens is 14 miles away. Keen walkers will love the South West Coast Path or, a 9-mile drive takes you to Exmoor National Park with magical moorlands and woodlands to explore.

Walk across the pretty man-made stream to the property’s front door and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This space is well equipped and designed to provide ample light. The lounge area has a comfortable sofa and chairs and a Smart TV; take a load off after a busy day walking and cosy up to watch a movie with friends and family. The kitchen is a great space to entertain and well equipped to help with any feasts you might be planning. There are two bedrooms, one of which is a king-size and the other a zip-and-link twin 2’6” (which can be made into a king on request at the time of booking). The family bathroom contains a bath with an overhead shower and a WC.

Outside, there is an enclosed rear courtyard with seating and a gate leading directly out onto the exercise field with views across to Codden Hill. This property has the benefit of shared gardens which have mature shrubs, grassy lawns and a fishpond (children and pets must be supervised). There’s a shared gazebo with tables, chairs and lighting so that summer parties don’t have to end when the sun goes down. Outside is a shared dog washing facility with a hot water shower and a large low-level Belfast sink, perfect for washing off muddy paws and boots.

A lovely week in spotless accommodation. Very tasteful and just right for a relaxing break. Welcoming hosts and a lovely cream tea waiting in our cottage. Lovely and quiet in beautifully kept gardens which we would have enjoyed more if the weather had cooperated! Molly the dog loved the field and all the interesting smells in the wood!
