Beautifully presented, terraced holiday property situated in a quiet, slightly elevated location, this is the perfect place for couples and small families to enjoy their summer holiday.

The lively fishing village of Appledore is the perfect place to spend a family holiday or romantic getaway. Stroll a short distance from the property down through the cobbled streets to the quay, buzzing with activity. Stop for an ice cream overlooking the Torridge River, or take the kids crabbing. There are quaint shops and galleries to explore as well as friendly pubs. You can catch glimpses of the estuary from your own enclosed garden, so why not fire up the BBQ and appreciate the surroundings from the comfort of home.

A traditional terraced home, this property has a mix of contemporary design and traditional elements to make the ideal holiday base. Spacious and light, the open-plan lounge/diner has comfy sofas to sink into and a TV for a bit of evening entertainment and there is also a relaxed dining area to enjoy meals. Either light snacks or family dinners are easy to make in the well-equipped and beautifully appointed kitchen. A convenient utility room houses the washing machine – a handy addition to avoid post-holiday laundry mountains! Two bedrooms, one double and one twin are lovingly decorated to sleep four people with a family shower room to wash off after a day at the beach.

Further afield from Appledore, you can find a wide range of things to do around North Devon. Amusement parks The Big Sheep (4 miles) and The Milky Way, just over 11 miles are sure to be a hit with the whole family. For an outside adventure, head to some local beaches such as Westward Ho! and enjoy the surf or take the seasonal ferry across to Instow and let your dog frolic on the sand. Other activities nearby include fishing, sailing and plenty of opportunities to surf, whether you're a pro or just want to learn.

A delightful cottage, with everything we needed to live their for the week. Fantastic location, Appledore is a beautiful place to stay, and gave us access to many coastal walks with the dog. The car parking was a great bonus, as many of the holiday cottages in the area don't have their own parking. We really enjoyed our stay, and it made Christmas Read morereally special for us. Hoping to return next Christmas. Hide

Cottage was well located for a quick walk to the quay, shops and pubs. It was well equipped and the parking was a bonus. The good size garden is great for dogs as long as they're young enough to climb steep steps. The welcome pack was a lovely treat on our arrival!

Nice clean cottage close to the promenade and amenities. A very steep climb to the garage at the top of the garden that would be tricky for the less mobile.

Very pleasant comfortable cottage only 5 minutes walk to the promenade. The cottage was clean, well equiped, great shower, had a pretty garden, and we were allowed to take our dog. The garage for the car was an added bonus. Appledore is a lovely traditional small town and completely dog friendly. Instow on the opposite side to the estuary has a fanRead moretastic dog friendly beach. Loads to do in the area. Would definitely recommend Fig Tree Cottage as your base for a great holiday. Hide
