For a serene hideaway in picture-perfect surroundings, complete with jaw-dropping river views, choose a stay in this delightful character cottage. Found in the quaint village of Kingswear, across the River Dart from beautiful Dartmouth, it’s an ideal spot for walkers. The fantastic South West Coast Path and South Devon AONB routes offer cliff-top trails with breathtaking views, as well as the ruggedly beautiful Dartmoor National Park also within easy reach, 18 miles away.

Decorated in a classic, coastal style, with nautical touches such as artwork, a blue and white colour scheme and ornaments, Milber Cottage is a wonderful riverside retreat. The open-plan kitchen/dining/living room is a restful place to relax, with original features including whitewashed exposed stone walls and sash windows, while a wood burner in the cosy lounge area is ideal for chillier nights in. Up two steps on the ground-floor is an attractive double bedroom, while up the cottage-style stairs you’ll find a queen-size double bedroom, a twin room and a bathroom. The beautiful private terraced patio, although accessed by steep steps, must be enjoyed with wonderful panoramic river views across Kingswear and the River Dart.

In the village of Kingswear, you’ll find a local shop, two pubs and a range of restaurants, while a 3-minute ferry ride will take you across to Dartmouth, home to an impressive array of independent shops, cafes, galleries and restaurants. You’ll be 2 miles from the pretty Dartmouth Castle, while 1920s country house Coleton Fishacre, a National Trust property, is 3.5 miles east. If you’d like to visit the seaside, gorgeous beach Blackpool Sands is 4.5 miles away, while the harbour town of Brixham is 5 miles north east.

A lovely charming cottage and fully equipped in an excellent location. Great ideas in folders or on bookshelves too. The owner was very kind, flexible and suggested some great ideas.

A pretty cottage in a very convenient location (about 3 minutes walk) for the ferry and train station. It is well equipped with most things you should need. The road outside is very tight and a scrape obtained on the car. It would be better to park at the bottom of the road and walk luggage up to the property.
